Way to go Dunny. Knew you could do it. #Brier
hehe, just keep them eyes closed.
what's the over / under on me hitting this tree with my drive!?....
Indeed! Seems fair to place bets on hotter than normal though. Surely there's a weather betting app out there...
Does seem to have been a bit cooler today than expected too. We'll see if it gets really sunny tomorrow and Tuesday.
Yeah that could work. I still think Standard time works best, in spite of the early sunrise in the summer, it avoids the long dark mornings in the winter.
supposedly going into a strong el nino event this spring. I don't think that usually means anything for our summer through. Moreso implications for how hot 2027 will be...
If we could avoid the fire season this year that would be ideal.
Hehe, the CBC Radio news guy buggered up the time change news twice in a row, two different ways now. First BC was joining Sk and Yukon in Standard time. Now BC is joining Sk and Yukon in Daylight Savings Time. In reality, BC is joining Yukon in DST, Sk is remaining in standard time.
I'll just leave this here... :)
I dunno... i'm still ticked about leaving my house in full daylight yesterday and now I have to leave in full darkness again. It's a pointless regression. I don't see much point in a longer winter evening, most people don't go outside anyway lol.
...it's probably just Old Man Winter grumbling about the rain wrecking all his hard work.
If you happen to hear an isolated rumble today in the southeast, you are not going crazy, there are a few One & Done embedded thundershowers sprinkled in amongst the rain this morning. #nlwx
Snirt is makin a comeback today. #nlwx
Woops, chose the wrong overlay. Skate skiing, my smartwatch is just kinda dumb at times.
North America time change policy in map form.
Wasn't too bad, worst of it stayed above the trees.
Didn't grab any pics yesterday, but got in a slog of a 15th outing in beautiful sunny but cold #nlwx and slow conditions. Tonight got my 16th in windy #nlwx before the warmup. Much faster tonight, and hopefully it's not the last of the season.
I will be fighting it on the home stretch though... which is after all the hills. That's going to suck.
Lol I'm about to go skiing in 40 gust 60 cause its the only chance I get before the rain starts... I am pre-annoyed... I'm hoping it'll at least help blow me up a couple of the hills on my night route.
Are we taking soft bets on what the snow depth will be by Wednesday? I'm going wiiiiiithhhhh... 44 cm.
I feel like it probably just delays the dryness to the 2nd half of summer depending on how the spring goes. But hey, that's still half a summer right?
yeah I'm definitely more willing to stick to one or the other than I am to keep going back and fourth.
To be fair, neither standard or daylight time is perfect, I just think the benefits of standard time is better overall and that most people just like daylight time cause of nostalgia.
Hehe no offense truly meant of course. But daylight time in the winter is brutal. Sunrise after 9 am? (And I like winter). A lot of folks already get depressed in the winter, add dark dreary mornings and I don't think that would be good for anyone. Either way, just pick one, stop changing it.
Lol. Yes. You are. The science says Standard time all year round is what's best for us. I understand that it's cool to have late evenings in the summer, but it's like asking your kid what they want for supper, they say candy, and then you say, ok let's have candy!
Yup. www.goodreads.com/book/show/22...
It's more akin to street magic... except there's even very little attempt to do the minimum sleight of hand. They'd been altering content / algorythym since before the 2016 election.
strangly the video has been removed from most of the facebook links...
well if some of the #nlwx guidance is correct, we're going to have significantly less snow around this time next week. The long range doesn't seem particularly winter-friendly either. If you wanted to get your last licks of winter fun in, get it done sooner than later, just in case.
