I don't often get emotional seeing the dogs off as I know they get a forever home and it free's up some space.

But seeing Twix leave yesterday was hard as I've known him since feeding him as a dumped tiny puppy. He's made it off the streets!!!

I saw someone the other day post something similar to this
At the end of each question I have put hints as to what the marks on the mark scheme are for.
I have done this for one of the Edexcel Foundation Mock Sets and think my group will find it useful as a scaffold. www.mrchapmanmaths.com/revision

So yesterday I was lucky enough to spend some time looking through Don Steward's lifetime of tasks and notes stored at @lborodme.bsky.social

In case you're not aware (I wasn't!), these have all been digitised and are available here:

Hannah Fry: Maths GCSE should be split into two qualifications Leading mathematician warns that the current maths qualification is trying to do β€˜too much at once’ and risks leaving students behind

Much respect for @fryrsquared.bsky.social but I'm not convinced English Lang / Lit GCSE is a good analogy. Fair bit of hate out there for the nebulous nature of GCSE Lang.
Science has been struggling with this question for whole of the C21st. Might be a better comparator.

Another way in which Trump closely resembles Putin and other dictators is that when he is scared, he is dangerous.

With public support in freefall, and with heat from the Epstein Files increasing despite his attempts to obstruct their release, Trump has started a needless war with Iran.

For example, instead of "calculate the following", ask "which of these have the same answer?"

A slight change of wording is a quick win to ask more engaging questions.

Here are a few simple examples.

I don't share all the dogs we find.

I haven't share this elderly girl that was hit by a truck a month ago. Simply because it was too sad and I didn't think she'd make it. Nobody needs to see that.

Luckily she's been fighting very hard and there is now hope. He name is Airbus

One of the first signs of spring is the sleepy emergence of Mr Simon from his burrow, where he has been hibernating through the winter months.

Soon his territorial song will be drifting through the park, hoping to keep other ice cream vans away.

Mathematical Miscellany #101 A compilation of mathematical goodies! It is so important that students check answers for reasonableness, yet they frequently don't. Examiners frequently report that students lose "easy" marks by providing answers that are physically or mathematically impossible. Checking answers can make a difference in students' grades. For example, always sanity-check real-world results. I once had a student calculate an individual’s height as 4 cm.

The squad made their first arrest today when a bus passenger was detained for 'failing to adequately thank the bus driver' upon disembarking.
