i shan't say much yet as i'm still sitting on the whole experience and Spoilers but damn picking a goty is gonna be hard this year

adding onto this i do think it hits its stride closer to the halfway point; the first half puts a lot of work into setup that could have been distributed better or skipped entirely since they repeat the Exact Same Things a lot, & the character reveals are where they start to shine

first game still wins on concentration levels of absolutely fucked up women though

paranormasight 2 has been finished. going into the true ending after hearing everywhere about how super hard it was to figure out i was surprised that i got it very easily LMAO. i'm just too good

One of Vanillaware's co-founders (Takehiro Shiga) drew this cool illustration depicting the structure of Chunsoft's most famous sound novels. This was posted around the time 13 Sentinels was entering production, so the devs may have been studying these sound novels while conceptualizing the game.

as of now overall i still like the first one more, but mermaid's curse does a fantastic job cleaning things up and expanding big time on ideas from seven mysteries of honjo. i'm sooo curious to see what's still waiting

anyway i'm towards the end (?) of paranormasight 2 and it's really fuckin great. does not disappoint in the slightest, i'm so glad the miracle happen for squeenix to let this get made

plza left me cold in a lot of ways but the parts that meaningfully engaged with/expanded on xy were Really good. everything with L alone made it all worth it
