I dressed up as Juniper The Dryad for WBD this year, some of the kids got it but most thought I was poison ivy 😆
WBD was amazing at the school library, we gave away hundreds of books, had some fantastic book conversations and the children were just so enthusiastic. It really gave me a boost
My Ev would love this series
I agree it would be good for either
Definitely, that would be fantastic
I am rarely a fan of film adaptations of books as I find film can just feel to short to do a book justice but a series of films of the Artezans books by @ldlapinski.bsky.social would be something special and also some shorter films based on the Shakespeare books by @louiestowell.bsky.social
I would love to see Tiger Skin Rug by Joan Haig as a series, sort of a Queen's Nose kind of real world magic show.
A series based on the Alfie Bloom books by @gabriellekent.bsky.social would be amazing and a series based on Alyssa and the Spell Garden books by Alexandra Sheppard would be fantastic.

I always think of this when I have to check my credit score for something and I have reminders that if I got a credit card or a loan my credit score would be better.
I have another #buyastrangerabook day offer for you!
@gabliotecaria.bsky.social is offering to buy someone a copy of Some Body Like Me by Lucy Lapinska.
Check it out, and if it's something you'd like, let us know.
UK only
We now do costume or just comfy non uniform, trying to balance the fact some love dressing up and others don't or their families can't arrange/ afford costumes. We now focus on giving out lots of free books and doing bookish activities
Writer and lawyer Abda Khan explains how cultural differences and misunderstandings create barriers, and explores how we might overcome them.

Little reminder that this is happening in Glasgow THIS SATURDAY and as far as I'm aware tickets are still available. Bring your kids! Bring yourself! It's honestly going to be so much fun and we cannot wait.
These are fantastic
Absolutely, when I first took the role the children just kept telling me they couldn't read that as it wasn't their band or that's not a real book, they weren't even allowed to take out Non- fiction it was just supposed to be looked at in class for the curriculum 😡 fortunately it's getting better
Definitely gaming magazines, I am lucky my headteacher is very open to trying pretty much anything to encourage reading for pleasure.
I have added some gaming art books and some guides for Minecraft, Terraria, Pokémon and Fortnite which are proving popular.
I have put out a community request to try and get some magazines and comics donated for the school library for exactly this reason. I'm hoping to get some more unusual ones on things like fishing/ making models/ travel as well as Pokémon/ Marvel etc.
My husband uses kwells, although they are for travel sickness he has found they help with anxiety sickness as well

I am reading A Grave Inheritance by Felicity Epps and listening to Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz
Having just looked at my latest royalty statement: have you bought our book yet? You should buy our book. I think it's good and I want to make another book.
If you've already bought it, maybe buy one for a nice friend?
My husband @mjowen174.bsky.social is very down and it’s difficult to see.
He had a thriving writing business until AI came along but now he’s struggling to find work.
Please repost this far and wide in the hope that he can find some writing work.
