Driving has gotten *significantly* worse since covid began, and I think it’s a combination of factors.

1) people got out of the habit and a lot of us never went back to commuting

2) literal covid brain damage

3) people decided in those years we are no longer a society

The number of projects I have saved by going "Wait, wait, you have this very detailed request to make the system to do X, but from talking to the team, the *problem* is Y and we can solve it better, faster, AND cheaper if we do Z... were you aware we could just do Z?"

In a related thought, that is part of why I like being signed up for permanent mail-in ballot status. Previously for many reasons I found it difficult to keep informed for local elections and ballot measures, now I can take my time to research anything I missed with the real thing in hand.

I often feel like the people who think their vote doesn't count, and that their voice will go unheard, are specifically the ones who ignore politics on the level where individual action absolutely counts, hyper local and primary levels, and of course support before and beyond voting...
