YOU can help us build the platform that this state can believe in: Become a leader on the Enough Should Be Enough Listening Tour! siembranc.org/volunteer
We need leaders who will listen to people instead of corporations, who defend families and workers instead of rogue violent federal agents, and who care more about giving North Carolinians healthcare than giving billionaires tax cuts.
Thousands of Mecklenburg, Edgecombe, Martin and Bertie voters handed decisive victories to Rev. Dr. Rodney Sadler β who just a few weeks ago won the endorsement of Siembra NC members β Veleria Levy, and Patricia Smith, candidates who promised to be leaders who deliver, not just promise.
They thought they could ignore their constituents, probably in return for favors from NC GOP leaders and the billionaires behind the scenes.
These three were the deciding "Yes" votes that allowed the GOP to implement policies that directly attacked our immigrant neighbors last October and that gutted our stateβs carbon reduction goals, prioritizing Duke Energyβs profits over the air we breathe and the climate our children will inherit.
Nasif Majeed, Shelly Willingham, and Carla Cunningham all lost their elections tonight after their unforgivable votes to hand the GOP the power to attack our families and our future.
North Carolina sent a clear message tonight: You cannot betray our community and keep your seat.
To win the safest state for immigrants and the best state to raise a family, we need leaders who will fight for our communities. Join us as we go talk with voters in northwest Mecklenburg County and help elect Rev. Dr. Sadler for NC House 106

This is a critical opportunity to remind the council members of the commitments they made at our Townhall last October, especially given the cruelty we witnessed last November in North Carolina from federal agents, which is likely to be an ongoing threat and continue in coming months.
Join us this Thursday, February 19th as we hold Durham City Council to their word. Weβre attending the Durham City Council Work Session at 1 PM to make sure our Stand Up! for Durham demands stay a priority.
Early voting has started, and the primary is now just a few weeks away! Mark your calendars and cast your early ballots before the end of February. Primary Election Day is March 3rd.
Rev. Dr. Sadler opposes handing over our tax dollars to ICE, opposes CBP agents terrorizing our cities and attended multiple trainings to help everyone in the Queen City get to school and work safely during CBPβs operation in November.
Siembra NC and @makencwork.bsky.social are proud to endorse Rev. Dr. Rodney Sadler (@rodneysadler.com) for NC House District 106. It is leadership like Rev. Dr. Sadlerβs that will make it possible for North Carolina to become the best place to live, work, and raise our families.
If your loved one has been detained, call the Siembra NC Hotline at (336) 543-0353
But the decision we can all make is to do everything we can to ensure that our communities are places where we can all live freely, raise families, and build a life for ourselves as part of a community of care. Thatβs a decision weβll make every day.
Samir and Tural are not the first people to make the decision to leave the country after experiencing detention. We know that this is not a decision made voluntarily, despite what any official tries to claim.
πͺ΄As always, we will continue to share updates on our social media channels, and you can always call our hotline at (336) 543-0353 to connect with our team.

πΌ Depending on the case, you may be able to ask your attorney if it is possible to file a habeas corpus petition.
We have confirmed several detentions at these offices in recent months, and several immigration attorneys with whom we work have also alerted us to an increased risk of detention, especially for people who entered the country without authorization.

ICE out of Minnesota!
No more state-sanctioned murder anywhere.

Step outside, light a candle. Tonight at 8 PM.
For our communities and for Alex Pretti.
Repeated illegal entry of ICE agents into homes and workplaces in Minnesota makes clear it is up to local governments, employers, houses of worship, and all of us, acting together, to defend our rights under the Constitution.
You can still see the training on their website at www.fletc.gov/ice-administ...
An administrative warrant, or an I-205, is a piece of paper filled out by an ICE officer authorizing themselves to conduct an arrest. In ICEβs own training this year, ICE instructors say βa removal warrant does not authorize the ICE officer to enter into an REP area to execute the warrant.β
...the DHS Office of the General Counsel has recently determined that the U.S. Constitution, the Immigration and Nationality Act, and the immigration regulations do not prohibit relying on administrative warrants for this purpose."
It reads in part, "Although the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has not historically relied on administrative warrants alone to arrest aliens subject to final orders of removal in their place of residence...
Apparently, it must be stated: our homes are 4th Amendment Homes.
A new CBS News report shows in May 2025 ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons secretly authored a memo to ICE agents authorizing them to enter homes without a judicial warrant.
