On Thursday, Doylestown opened its newest bike and hike trail along Shady Retreat, connecting Stonington Farms and Old Colonial Green with Doyle Elementary and the rest of the trail network.

I remember discussions starting before I was on the board and lived off Shady Retreat. Thrilled to open it!

Water conservation measures:

- Avoid watering lawns
- Only wash cars with recycled water
- Try to reduce household water usage by 15% to 20% (ie if its yellow let it mellow, if its brown flush it down)

The drought emergency and mandatory water conservation does NOT apply to residents who get their water from an on lot well.

That said, it is highly recommended that all residents practice water conservation to protect your wells until we get enough rainfall to recharge our aquifers.

Because of the very low rainfall in our region this year, Doylestown Township Municipal Authority has declared a drought emergency for its customers and is enacting mandatory water conservation measures.
