We've been saying for so long: "Socialism or barbarism". Well, it's not a theoretical. The barbarism is here. We are inflicting it on the entire planet. This system demands it. Either it goes or we go, and the bosses have made their choice in the matter.

The situation in Lebanon is truly bleak, Israel effectively occupying the south, regular strikes into civilian areas of Beirut, half a million people displaced and even if the strikes on Iran slow down or cease this is likely to persist. It's horrific the news continues to fail like this.

Done and done. This party needs rejuvenation and I hope Avi Lewis wins. We need a leftist party in this country again and we cannot allow the NDP to fade away. It's more important than ever before that we have more than two viable options.

At least 13 hospitals and health facilities hit during attacks on Iran, WHO says Global health body investigating reports that four medics are among the 1,230 people killed in Iran since start of war

In Gaza, Israel and Biden normalized war crimes beyond anything we have seen before.

And now, Israel and Trump are using that model against Iranian civilians.

I would just like to point out to the Millennial children of Iranian exiles who are all up in my feed praising Trump - and who generally I have great sympathy for - that this is the horse you’re backing.

this isn't just a MAGA thing, it's a cross-American one and *especially* a lot of people who came of age in politics or punditry in the 1990s. the idea that the news could happen to them - that the world might not be all going their way - is genuinely brain-breaking to a lot of them

"A better world is possible" used to be an uplifting message about the dream of creating a better future.

Now it is just a straightforward statement. Like…FOR SURE a better world is possible. This stupid shit we are up to now definitely isn't the best we can do. Not even close.

I feel like I probably should have known this, but the majority of US diplomatic missions have no confirmed ambassador.

Of the 190 permanent missions we have, 78 have confirmed ambassadors. 112 do not.

We have no ambassador in 58.9% of our embassies around the world.

Newsom likens Israel to ‘apartheid state,’ questions future military support The California governor’s comments came as he promoted his new memoir in Los Angeles.

the "gradually and then all at once" structure of public opinion moves is a wild thing, and one way you know it's happened is when politicians of the moderate / poll-driven / cynical type jump in with takes that just recently were seen as provocatively ideological www.politico.com/news/2026/03...

Hey, remember how we let a nazi near-trillionaire annihilate the US state capacity? I know it was a whole year ago, but it turns out that this has consequences beyond "murdering 14 million people by ending USAID" (which apparently no one cared about).

Term limits. Applied retroactively. Adjust Court number. Add DC and PR. Remove the filibuster. Institute Voting Rights Act. Tribunal for every participant in this unconstitutional attack on our democracy.

This is what we the voters want.

Canada ‘abandoning’ international law with support for U.S. strikes on Iran, say former diplomats Though Canada's approach to Iran has been 'well-aligned' with the United States for many years, Prime Minister Mark Carney's government has been reluctant to condemn any suspected violations of…

Former diplomat Jon Allen said he was “a bit surprised” by how “clear and direct” Canada's support was.

Allen, who worked in GAC's legal bureau during his diplomatic career, said that international law is being “largely ignored.”

“That’s a dangerous path."

Donald Trump is dragging the United States into a war the American people do not want. Let me be clear: I am opposed to a regime-change war in Iran, and our troops are being put in harm’s way for the sake of Trump’s war of choice.
