Always thought FF12 was under-rated and as you see where FF games have gone since, it only looks better in retrospect IMO. I feel like the tone has shifted since then somehow.

It's my birthdayyy today so I'm going to ask for a cheeky lil artshare if you like my work since I'm still pretty new to the bluesky art community c:
Hii I'm Marby, I'm from the UK and living in the US. I like world building and fantasy art, I'm also working on a personal game project for fun π€
Haha yes!
I love the fun but useless way of using them that is just an emoji of whatever was shared. Environment artist shared a picture of a new 3d rock model? Put a Rock emoji on that.
Pencil drawing, Edinburgh old town inspired architecture, chimneys, turrets etc

A group of young adventurers approach a mysterious shrine where a sword emerges from a rock shrouded in mist. A key concept art painting by Andy Porter for Gardens Interactive's new game.
A new painting (by me) I can share for the game we are working on here at Gardens. I still can't say much, but things are moving along smoothly and I'm excited for you all to see it when it's ready. I really appreciate all the enthusiasm everyone has shared with me about the art we've shown so far.

New Website! Some new art from the team and myself here at Gardens in the presskit, and a silly picture of me sneaking around a forest.
A digital painting of a large tree in fall. A figure walks through a creek in the foreground, surrounded by fallen leaves.

Desperately wish I could have been working in that era. You've seen all the FF11 stuff right? www.playonline.com/ff11us/guide...

What IS fun though is finding the oldest game that still holds up perfectly (ignoring Tetris because obviously). Like SMB3 or A Link to the Past are almost perfectly timeless.
Yeah for sure, I just think its less fun when Mario Kart 8 is also on the list, and if the criteria is 'right now', then MK8 clears no questions asked.
Makes sense. I'm just not ready to see every 3D PS1/N64 immediately hit the bottom of the list lol.
I always think about this when I see all time game rankings, and it's harder, but you have to do it based on when it was released. The technological, graphical, control and quality of life innovations over time completely remove 95% of anything over 20 years old from contention.

Switching to traditional media is the best decision I'v made in a long time. It feels so much nicerto paint on real paper. With brushes for scale, you can also see how tiny my work is in person.
