I'm kinda just agreeing with you and adding context as to why it won't have the same effect here?

It's not that deep.

It won't, because the person who gets to decide whether or not the vote even happens is Mike Johnson.

There were 3 articles of impeachment filed in 2025. Not a single one of them saw the light of day because, again, Mike Johnson gets to decide that.

Are we posting Cesar E Chavez/Alameda Chevron again?

Yep, we're posting Cesar E Chavez/Alameda Chevron again.

Just being a nuisance in Hormuz in and of itself is a political nightmare for the US, whose electorate are on even the best day, imbecilic toddlers who throw a tantrum when borgur and gas prices go up.

Which adds a layer of calculus on the US side for just taking our toys and going home.

By the way, virtually all standard carrier liability and insurance for shipping doesn't cover force majeure events.

So it really doesn't matter that insurers are willing to hand out their normal policies to goods transiting the middle east.

The force is very majeure out there.

Also he's insuring the ships, but are we also insuring the cargo? To which point not many shahed drones need to slip through before that $20bn gets depleted *real fast*

Also it doesn't even matter. Normal insurance policies do not actually cover force majeure. Force Majeure policies in today's climate are going to be astronomical, since the coalition of the incompetent could very well accidentally blow up a ship they're supposed to be protecting.

My wife and child are out of town visiting her sister. Which means I am left unsupervised.

On another note, my hair has grown out over the winter, so I'm currently messing around with her pretty hair clips to see which one works on my hair.

I like the pink ones with flowers.

My wife is completely out of my league and she's the bestest person ever and I can't believe she wants to be with me.

The secret really is that when we met, I didn't send her dick (penis) pics, I sent her a Dick (portrait of Richard III) pic.

...she still tells the story out of context sometimes.

The Ralphs station near my house blunts the pain, but it's still more than it was a week ago even with my points.

Pain.

I posit the sequel trilogies were bad because they weren't woke enough.

There was no planned political messaging. TFA was just full on nostalgia bait money grab.

Rian Johnson tried, but it's hard to start when you're already behind the 8ball.

The trilogy ended up having a very shallow message.

I hate to break it to Ronaldo fans, but he's *also* a massive piece of trash.

Oh, they're much older than that.

False armies and deception has been used as long as humans have waged war.

Hannibal Barca faked out an entire Roman blockade by tying torches to oxen.

This shit has been happening since forever.

The fact that Israel is supportive of this war is irrelevant to the fact that this war *is* our war. Our leaders have agency. They wanted and started this war.

Our country is perfectly capable of bad decisions w/o being directed by a tiny country and what amounts to pocket change from AIPAC.

06.03.2026 06:48 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

The other question is, why are we giving cover to Donald Trump by insisting that this is Israel's war?

This war doesn't happen without the US. This is *our* war. This is a war that Trump has wanted since his 1st administration when he assassinated Soleimani and lobbed tomahawks at Iran.

06.03.2026 06:48 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

There are plenty of countries who also fervently support Israel who have the sense *not* to participate in this debacle of an invasion.

Donald Trump started this war because Donald Trump wanted this war. He's wanted this war since his 1st term.

Do not give him cover.

06.03.2026 06:41 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

By the way, do not give cover for what this fucking administration does and stands for by claiming that this is "Israel's War."

This is very much our war, and as Americans we need to own the fact that our leaders have agency.

Otherwise they become victims, and they are the fuck not victims.

Kristy Noem being publicly humiliated by being fired without notice mid press conference is gender.

The fact that she probably has the highest odds of being thrown into prison after this is also gender.

The gender theory of everything lives eternal.

I mean, she's completely misguided to think so. If we get extinction level results, the men in the GOP will crawl over broken glass to throw her under the bus in an attempt to save themselves.

06.03.2026 01:50 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Also I think she does have an inkling that if Stephen Miller's 1000 year Reich didn't happen, her chances of going to prison are higher than anyone else in the admin, and her only play is to pick-me even harder in hopes the Republicans don't throw her under the bus when the fallout happens.

Its even better

Noem and Bondi may be sacrifices the Republican establishment will throw in prison as they desperately try to stave off extinction level electoral results, but man it will feel satisfying to see those two rot in a hole knowing all that their pick-me energy gained them was absolutely nothing.

Cool, that means Anthropic's CEO can also be hung after the war crimes tribunal.

I think the solution to having to be nice to a Neo Nazi who's hosting you is to not go on the neo Nazi's podcast.

But that's just me. Maybe just like Gavin Newsom and Ben Shapiro, Graham Platner just had no choice because a cosmic force prevented him from saying no.

05.03.2026 06:09 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

After all, he said "my bad." What else do you expect?

05.03.2026 05:37 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

And in Grim and Platner's socialist Utopia, there will never be accountability for white "working class" men.

Because these men will lead is to utopia and that work cannot be derailed by the overreacting shrieking of women, Jews and/or other lesser rabble.

05.03.2026 05:37 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

I have no doubt he thinks of himself as a socialist. But I cannot trust that his brand of socialism simply means that people who don't conform are left behind at best and eliminated at worst.

A utopia led by white men for white men.

05.03.2026 05:37 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

The problem is that there is functionally no difference between Newsom going on Ben Shapiro and gushing with him and Platner going on Valhalla and gushing with Nick.

Not a single minority should trust him any more than they trust Newsom.

Ryan Grim is angry that a white man who fits his aesthetic of a working class warrior is being criticized for his actions because in his heart of hearts, he believes if the rabble just shuts up and let this rugged working class man fix things, then things will be better.
