In this gravity map made from merely one year of SWOT data, we see the topography of the whole ocean bottom. We can see individual abyssal hills, along with thousands of small uncharted seamounts and previously hidden tectonic structures buried underneath sediments and ice.
A different kind of map of the Earth: The new SWOT satellite uses radar altimetry to measure the topography of the ocean floor, providing a sharper look at the 50% of our planet that's never been seen clearly before.
