Victoria MP challenges Carney's stance on strikes on Iran as feds sidestep legality issue Will Greaves, the Liberal MP for the Victoria riding, expressed his concerns about Canada's stance in a social media post on Saturday.

I'm with my MP on this. While Ibelieve that the despotic Islamic regime must go, I do not support the unilateral and illegal use of military force and the killing of civilians, in contravention of international law. Thank you, @wgreaves.bsky.social. www.timescolonist.com/local-news/v...

Hey @cbcstephenquinn.bsky.social - I went to see the New Pornographers a few years ago in Vancouver - and was underwhelmed. Great music but no interaction with the audience in between songs, no hype or excitement - very business like on stage. In short - better to listen to them on the radio ;)

We have a lot of big problems in the housing market, especially in building more affordable rental housing, and there are big economic and political issues preventing that housing from being built; that's where our attention should be right now. The rest of us can take care of ourselves, IMHO.

The condo sales process was challenging, but after several weeks, we found a buyer who loved the place (which I'd made lots of improvements to and taken great care of). Realtors need to hustle and work for their money again, instead of listing and waiting for offers to come in. Is that so bad? 4/5

This would not have been possible for me in Vancouver, and it's still pretty brutal in Victoria. But prices are going down - and rents are finally coming down, too. Homeowners and landlords may be griping about that, but it's good for the economy, communities, labour markets and more. 3/5

Now, it's true that I both a bought and sold at prices at least $25K less than they would have yielded this time last year. But for me, it's a wash. So I still made money on my studio condo (which is being reinvested in my new place). I'm finally moving up the real estate ladder. 2/5

I moved this week after several months both buying and selling condos in Victoria, BC. I am reading so many new year's stories (including one just now) about us living in "the worst home sales market in 30 years". I know I'm just one person, but that hasn't been my experience. 🧡 1/5
