I pop into our Y1 bilingual class today during CP time and explain in very poor French that I'm trying to learn. A 5 year old takes me by the hand to her 'magasin de jouets' and plays with me speaking very slowly in French, gesturing when I don't understand and she's the best teacher I've ever had!

Just trying to get our heads around it at the moment - but it's definitely making sure we don't just pop stuff in the general waste because we can't be bothered to recycle! Seen a few parents on local chats talking about switching to washable nappies too.
We don't have council tax in Belgium, but the commune are now introducing a 'charge by weight' waste disposal service. Basically, your recycling/paper waste is removed for free and general waste is weighed and billed. Pretty sure people are going to become much more careful with their recycling.

Try as it might Labour will never eradicate trans people. They cannot, and should not, change who they are. All Labour will do is make trans lives harder - with more harm and more death.
Actively anti-trans. I say this as the parent of a transgender teen. We currently live in Belgium where we had to take her so she could feel safe and access healthcare. We’re lucky we could but no-one should have to do that.
I’m not seeing much tolerance of anyone’s rights in the UK at the moment. A bit rich to suggest that this is the fault of refugees rather than our own population who are punching down on brown, female, trans and disabled people.
Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.
The economically insecure/liberal thinking core dwindled long ago. Community structures like unions/working mens clubs where equality united those struggling was replaced by social media. Your core was educated, stable but compassionate people. You drove them away by showing a lack of compassion.

None. I've just taught thousands of children to love language and use it well and to own it as an entitlement, regardless of their background. All without flouncing off in a temper.
Why? We have a rich language with beautiful and interesting words. Why diminish it because people can't be bothered or aren't interested enough to learn new things?
Really what? It takes less time to look up the word than to make a social media post asking someone to explain it to you.
They even have dictionaries online these days.

A new report and survey of trans people reports that 99% of them have had their mental health negatively affected by the barrage of anti trans stories in the UK media. 64% avoided medical care due to discrimination. This is a crisis.

Sadly most of the migrants impacted are from the poorer Asian countries working on construction sites and tourist services and have their passports removed. I doubt anyone will be airlifting them.
