Trump sons making corrupt money in Ukraine to capitalize on President dad’s policy choices after spending the whole Biden presidency alleging that’s what Hunter was doing
@danielwbrody
Counting down the 1000 greatest rock and roll songs of all time and making other lists of my favorite tunes and albums. Rock and roll is my favorite genre but I truly like a little bit of everything, from classical and cumbia to honky-tonk and highlife.
Trump sons making corrupt money in Ukraine to capitalize on President dad’s policy choices after spending the whole Biden presidency alleging that’s what Hunter was doing
for me “doom scrolling” is actually just the pathological hunt for the first piece of news that indicates this whole unbearable moment is about to unravel
Jimmy Carter was a nice guy though
Embrace the glonzo
Ummmm
I wonder about the value of reporting Trump admin brain farts about Iran with no additional context around their connection to reality or feasibility or the truth, as that Bluesky account and media outlet tend to do.
I think Tapper is just not that smart or courageous. He knows how to follow the bullies and avoid getting hit. His nose for news is pretty lousy by comparison. There are a lot of journalists like him.
What separates the first two phases
Coward can't call it a war because he might get yelled at but implores others to makes sacrifices
Oh I think TACO contains multitudes
Don't have the courage to call it war but you dear citizen need to sacrifice as if it were
It's pretty clear that the seeds are being planted for the entire US political and media class to be swept out to sea with Trump the second it's feasible, and they won't see it coming either
when the only next step remaining is boots on the ground
So maybe I'm a pedant but I think it's only unconditional surrender when you unconditionally declare that you surrender. Waving a white flag, that sort of thing.
(just as aside to all my other shilling for Platner I know him personally)
When Trump's finally gone I think the media that enables and mollycoddles him and his followers are also gone
No regime change, but Trump gets to pick who leads the regime after the unconditional surrender
A bit of audience capture too
You can start to see why conservatives are so sensitive to Hollywood's politics, they literally admit to movies defining their worldview all the time
As with climate change, you can't bluster your way around the insurance implications
Simply bluster? From Trump??!? I am pretty sure the bad guys can feel his resolve and are quaking in their boots from it. He won't have to occupy Iran, he'll just have to imply that he could occupy Iran if he wanted to, and that will be enough! It will be as if he did. He just has to sound tuff.
What a missed opportunity! Billy could've used a push out of his comfort zone.
I am from Long Island and about as big of a Billy Joel fan as you can imagine, but gave it another shot and River of Dreams still doesn't click for me at all, with the possible exception of Lullaby. So much overbearing 90s rock production stripping the tunes of delicacy and nuance.
What’s Greenwald saying about it these days
Having one of those Mandela Effect moments where I am almost certain E-40's "Stilettos & Jeans" was released in 2006 and on his My Ghetto Report Card album but every source online tells me it was from Revenue Retrievin': Night Shift in 2010. I swear the entire internet is wrong.
I heard if the US military broadcasts toughness and resolve their enemies get scared and surrender quickly.
I have doubts about Trump's attention span
Recipe for a quagmire
I usually wasn't feeling the type of pop-folk they would sell at the counter at Starbucks, but the Weepies' "Gotta Have You," from their Say I Am You album released 20 years ago tomorrow, just burrowed its way into my soul. It should probably be a sappy romantic comedy love theme. #brodys2006
Matisyahu, the orthodox Jewish reggae phenomenon, released his breakthrough album Youth 20 years ago tomorrow. "King Without a Crown" was catchy and Sublime enough to become a radio hit, but the novelty pretty much wore off after that. "One Day" from the follow-up Light album was awful. #brodys2006
