He needs to stop serving up all these rebounds. He’s gotten away with it so far.

I’d assumed that the Habs ‘secret deal’ that fell apart was for Thomas or Kadri. Hearing what has been said the last 24 hours, I think it was much bigger than that, and was true ‘blockbuster’ multiplayer deal that included roster players, prospects and picks for a superstar level player.

Between him and Monty, there’s almost a single, complete goalie there.

And they dodged a bullet on it not being 2 with the turnover and penalty. Dobes has been lucky to get away with some of the rebounds he’s given up.

Maybe we’re all being a bit hard on the boys. If you send me to CA on a week long business trip in late February, you’re almost guaranteed to see a steep drop off in my levels of professionalism and the number of fucks given.

One thing I feel ought to be discussed more is the fact that basically all rural and suburban places in the US are subsidized by cities. They resent cities. They insult cities. They elect politicians who abuse cities. But none of them could survive without cities.

We’ve had too many nights where they come out like that and get outshot 14-4 in the 1st. That’s a coaching and prep issue. Marty has already played his 1st ‘get out of jail free’ card in firing the goalie coach. I’d expect more scrutiny of him if this continues… but fans will just blame the Goalie.

Oh, no doubt. But when you get outshot 14-4 in the 1st period, that points to much bigger problems. Some might say that’s a coaching and prep issue. Continually blaming the goalie is ignoring glaring issues elsewhere. But for one game against Calgary, Fowler’s stats are similar to Monty and Dobes.

I think a great idea would be if his defenders could maybe clear the net in front of him. On the game tying goal, Matheson gave Kreider a nice shoulder rub, made sure he was well fed, hydrated, and set him up with a good spot in front of Monty to tip it in.

It’s only been the last 18 months I’ve ‘followed online’ as I’ve never been one for social media, and I must say, Habs fans aren’t doing anything to counter the narrative that they’re a bit insane and unreasonable.
