Sorry Port Talbot but I think this comes down to geography & security. Iron, coal & lime nearby. But Scunthorpe was impossible to bomb in WW2 because of scarp slopes. I know bombs are smarter now, but strategically Scunthorpe is easier to protect.
Scunthorpe geographically interesting. WW2 Germany failed to bomb it bcs of location. Scarp slopes hard to find. Also close to iron/lime/coal. But does need to be modernised to electric.

I so want us to work with the EU to set up our own satellites and boot the US out of five eyes or whatever they call it. We really need to get to independent in double fast time.
