I see racists have come to Edinburgh to exploit fears and whip up hate following the knife incident in the Calders. Worth noting Scotland sees over 4,000 serious knife crimes a year, the vast majority of which are committed by white people of British ancestry. Don't let the hatemongers mislead you.

265-289 Allison Street, designed by Alexander Thomson, photographed on a sunny day in 1975. Stewart Campbell's off licence on the corner is making ever effort to get your carry out money, with its window displays and blue and white mosaic tiles 😁

David Byrne utterly astounding last night. Just incredible.

Glasgow wasn’t a lawless hellscape back then either btw. You had to be unlucky to find trouble, unless you were looking for it. It wasn’t perfect then, it’s not perfect now, but there’s so much bullshit talked about comparative past and present Glasgow. It’s undoubtedly less violent.

This needs called out, called out and called out some more on a factual basis. Glasgow, pre Violence Reduction Unit, was a more violent place. Anyone who grew up in the 90s will remember schemes regularly battling other schemes and even different areas within the same scheme battling each other.

I still can’t believe Joani Reid’s husband is an alleged Chinese spy and an Alba plant snuck into the number one spot on the Labour Lothian list and Anas Sarwar tried and failed to coup Starmer. What a month for the Scottish Labour Party.

Joani Reid was the first user to block on me on here, I'm not saying today's events are connected but 台湾独立自由万岁.

Anyone know if there is an equivalent Mandarin word for schadenfreude?

Imagine writing this after the Greens have just absolutely battered Reform in a predominantly working class constituency.

This is an absolute fucking outrage btw. Evicting an organisation that provides artistic space for people with disabilities is monstrous, not to mention the livelihoods of the people who work there. Shameful.

Labour: ‘clearly we need to offer more celery.’

Fatboy Slim followed by staying up until 5am watching by-election coverage was an odd combo. Can you get jet lagged by going from the Southside to Gallowgate?

Labour taking it well, I see.

This does not wash after nineteen years. Ultimately, the SNP hasn’t wanted to touch it with a barge pole because the enormous upheaval and inevitable teething problems would be electorally damaging. Lib-Lab did nothing about it either. The only thing stopping it is a lack of political bravery.

Important for politics across these islands that the good guys hold the line in Gorton and Denton today. Important that Reform are defeated and important that alternatives to Labour start to be seen as genuinely viable. Good luck @mcrgreenparty.bsky.social

Two things here.

The idea that Muslim voters are a homogeneous group who can be easily manipulated is deeply offensive in itself.

Secondly, Labour absolutely deserve to be punished for their stance on Gaza.

The form table has two of the bottom three in the top three, both having beaten each other away from home in recent matches. There’s just no point in trying to work out what’s going on.

going to be mad circa 2028 when Peter Mandelson is acting as a key prime ministerial advisor from his cell, like a sort of New Labour Hannibal Lecter

It’s genuinely wild stuff. A clown like me knew he was dodgy as fuck through simply reading about the things that he has done in plain sight. You aren’t assigned the “Prince of Darkness” title through conducting your business in an honest and above board manner.

“We didn’t know the extent to which Mandelson was dodgy” is up there with Gerry Adams claiming he wasn’t in the IRA as a bit btw.
