this is all happening because Schlossberg has formed an alliance with Layla Law-Gisiko, an odious turboNIMBY running for city council to replace Bottcher

An entirely unserious position from Schlossberg:
- There is no funding available to fix these complexes via Section 9, which is why they're in the state they are in.
- These buildings are nearly a century old and in terrible condition.
- Rebuilding is actually *cheaper* than repair

Jack Schlossberg is now going full NIMBY and fighting against a plan to rebuild a dilapidated NYCHA campus with even more affordable housing and guaranteed brand new homes for every current NYCHA tenant.

What a joke this guy is

I am writing because almost four years ago, l proposed to my now-wife thanks to Per Se. More specifically, I went to Per Se for our dinner and then proposed to my wife at Grand Central. The meal was magical, the service was outstanding, and it was an unforgettable, perfect night (see pictures below).(
Swipe
Our second anniversary is coming up this year and I was planning on having another meal at Per Se. However, I simply cannot justify doing so as long as Thomas Keller is opposing affordable housing in Yountville. I have worked in the Senate on housing policy, and a large part of the reason we are in a housing crisis is due to the anti-housing NIMBYism that Mr. Keller is magnifying. While he claims to simply want a "better" project, there have been over a dozen community meetings already for this affordable housing proposal in Yountville. It is a common tactic to make the perfect the enemy of the good to try and stop much needed affordable housing in California, but it is deeply upsetting to see this coming from a chef had previously given me nothing but positive memories.
I hope that Mr. Keller looks at the evidence on housing policy and reconsiders, but until he does, I will not be able to dine at any of his restaurants in good conscience.

There Is No Housing Affordability Without Building More Housing If we make it easier to build dense housing in cities, then the resulting supply boost will ease the cost burden on renters and put homeownership within closer reach for millions of households.

Every couple of months or so, someone puts out a piece of bad social science meant to undermine the case for more housing. For Roosevelt Institute, I wrote a blog post responding to the two most recent specimens. rooseveltinstitute.org/blog/there-i...

Here’s the thing with Platner: what is his actual deal? We have a lot of information about this guy. He hasn’t been a longtime fighter for his community or progressivism or populist causes. He just woke up one day and decided to start saying the right words. Well, okay, a lot of people can do that.

Fetterman is completely incoherent. if this guy was in your family, you’d want him in a mental care facility, not an important job like U.S. Senator.

Councilmember Harvey Epstein, who represents the neighborhood, said he has concerns with the development. He wants more of the apartments in the building to be designated as affordable housing.
"I think there are some problems with the conceptual nature of the building. It's over-bulked for the neighborhood." Epstein said. "I fundamentally believe we need more affordable housing in the city. ... Projects that are fully affordable, I understand having more bulk. But a project at 75% market, it feels like a different equation to me."

Last week, former State Senator Sonya Jaquez Lewis was sentenced to probation and community service after being convicted of four felonies including Attempt to Influence a Public Official.
She made a horrible mistake, and she was wrong. I hope she learns from this and can rebuild her life.
As someone who has known Sonya as a friend for many years, on a personal level I was glad to hear she isn't going to prison which is a hard place for anyone, no less a retired 68-year old pharmacist.
But it is not lost on me that she was convicted of the exact same felony charge as Tina Peters β€” attempting to influence a public official β€” and yet Tina Peters, as a non-violent first time offender got a nine year sentence. Justice in Colorado and America needs to be applied evenly, you never know when you might need to depend on the rule of law. This is the context I am using as I consider cases like this that have sentencing disparities, which is why I have extended the deadline for clemency applications until April 3rd. I will be making decisions on these cases throughout the remainder of my governorship.

the days following her order to turn off the surveillance cameras, Peters allowed Conan Hayes, co-founder of the clothing company RVCA and proponent of QAnon conspiracy theories, 33) to access the room where Mesa County's electronic voting machines were stored and to copy sensitive information from those machines. 34] Days later, Peters allowed Hayes to be present for a software update to the voting machines and to record video of the update taking place. 35. Peters' chief aide, former deputy clerk Belinda Knisley, described Hayes as a "mystery man," and said that Peters told her she brought him in to access files from the voting machines because Peters "was afraid the Colorado Secretary of State's office was going to remove them."
