Created for a party line where callers could record funny messages or hear what was freakin'. Requests for merchandise could not materialise. The ad became an enigma when rediscovered in 2008, renewing the creators' interest in giving Freddie a second life.

There are qualities to the design of this animation that bring to mind my animation idol, Fred Crippen. His animation is similarly, very limited, but very well timed and comedic.
Inspektor Maska is a GREAT example of using limited animation to a stronger effect. It proved that you can just use much less frames to make it work. This is something indie animation people really should embrace.
