Despite "Immersive Sim" being the third largest sub-genre in Next Fest, there are almost no imsims to be found. There are a lot of AI slop simulation games though.

Been cooking up this lockpicking minigame these past few weeks. My cursor doesn't show in the recording, but you have to keep it steady on the target icon. WIP!
Everyone's talking about "looksmaxxing", so I decided to have a "maximum-look" outside the bounds of many Backrooms games. Horrors mogged, or whatever. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPTf...
Now that I've implemented player stats, I get to do stuff like this. #screenshotsaturday
Thank you!
Since your equipped camera already controls what UI you see, I decided to take it a step further and add custom themes for each one. New fonts, colors, and maybe more?
Kind of difficult to explain the complexity of this design decision. But most games (even many RPGs) give the player full stats but just hand wave them for enemies. Like when your attacks are limited by stamina but the enemies don't have literal stamina and can attack endlessly.
Been working on some RPG mechanics for my next game and made the decision to not just give the player stats, but all enemies too. Adds a ton of complexity and extra work, but it'll let me do neat things like apply status effects and modifiers regardless of the target.
Looking very slick!
Extremely niche complaint, but modding Unity games built with IL2CPP is a nightmare and I curse all devs who do it (not really). That said, I am working on a new video with one such game.
Crunchy texturing process! #screenshotsaturday
Level design is often about filling spaces with random junk. Sometimes I turn these props into physics objects, let them scatter, then turn them back into static objects to be used in the game.
Made some new limb damage UI. Bonus leechrat getting obliterated by some mushrooms. #screenshotsaturday
The algo absolutely hates me tagging the devs, so here's a list of games I talked about: Northern Journey, Devora, Caput Mortum, Drowned Lake, Devoid, Routine, Metamorphosis, and Lunacid.
Did a video on a bunch of big indies everyone told me to play, plus a bunch of cool unknown ones I discovered recently. Check it out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=bany...
hint: a very long time
"It's just a new door type, how much time could it take me to implement?" - every game dev ever
I don't recommend trying to slide on very steep slopes

Been messing with my volumetrics setup a lot lately. Adds a lot of atmosphere for some small tradeoffs. Here's a little on/off.
Every few weeks I get inspired to improve my movement code some more. Here's the latest walk, sprint, jump, ledge grab, vault, climb-into-crouch, dash, and powerslide.
Made a new glass shader and some shatter effects this week (bonus peek at some WIP level design). #screenshotsaturday
I love indie games
Made some crunchy posters to liven up your post-apocalyptic concrete bunker.

Posted a video over the weekend on Uktena 64, a recent comedy-horror retro hunting sim. Surely the Squirrel Stapler fans will be pleased. Check it out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFYu...
Last chance to pick up my game and 3 other cool indies at a deep discount!

I went back to replay Fallen Aces only to be met with this bizarre nightmare world instead. Since I couldn't find any mention of this online, I decided to document my experience. Full video below!
Last week, we shadow launched our first Indie Spotlight Collection by sharing the hidden link with the developers so their communities got first dibs.
