Unfortunately I could never quite get the hang of the exhaust subtheme. Just ended up brute forcing it with a perfect block deck in the end

Thank you! It does get pretty variance-heavy in those higher heats, lol
In the end, I actually finished it with a perfect deck. All unnecessary cards gone, just spinning through Entrenches and Body Slams with Calipers to go infinite. Beat the Heart with nine hundred block up
Finally completed my last outstanding Slay the Spire challenge, just in time for the sequel. Heat 20 Ironclad plus Heart is DONE. Torment me no longer, Ironclad!
Dark clouds loom above the first game of the summer tournament, as Nishiura attempt to topple their first-seeded Tosei adversaries. With a run-one deficit and only two innings to go, we return to the tense showdown of Big Windup!

It seems almost baked into their structure. By the time you have access to all the weaponry a given Resident Evil provides, you're not playing the same game you started with
As it turns out, my feelings exactly. Happy to hear I'm not the only one who had trouble finding any kind of emotional connection with it!

More importantly, an amazing person who shaped a humane philosophy that the studio carried from its founding until now, and in the hands of his family, into the future. People who crossed paths with him remember both small acts of kindness and his ahead-of-their-time views on animation production
All my condolences about the passing of KyoAni founder & president Hideaki Hatta. No exaggeration to say that he's been one of the most important individuals in the history of this industry, especially if you consider that he also had a hand in IG's inception www.kyotoanimation.co.jp/information/...

My friend J-Maz on how director Sunao Katabuchi's studio Contrail was absorbed by MAPPA and the difficulties of making anime. An enlightening deep dive.

Bug Yuri is incredibly real. Haven't been normal about this since I finished it
Love this one! It was apparently originally going to be Demons 3, which makes for one hell of a trilogy
That's so cool! It seems like he dabbled in a bit of absolutely everything

emiri asks makio, "is being a novelist fulfilling?"
makio responds, "not at all."
also this
makio gives asa writing advice "write with the intent to kill."
that really is what it's all about
That really strikes me with the FFVII remakes. All these graphical updates and voiced cutscenes still can't make them feel as theatrical or limitless as the original
Now down to just half a dozen outstanding writeups in my current projects, which in the other direction means I have a... five month buffer of drafts. Keeping busy!
Yeah, it would have been great if they started to meet in the middle. Angry mode hanging around feels like a reflection of her growing comfort with the gang, so it'd be nice to see that also reflected in Nice mode
Great to see you here! I don't spend too much time on socials either these days, but it's nice to keep in touch with the old crew
There was a whole song and dance about seeking UN approval and everything. It seems we've moved past the need for manufacturing consent
Really love how Angry Launch shifts from being a slapstick punchline to a genuine member of the family
