Night of 2026-02-08, time UTC in bottom left. Optical flow visualization on right. Captured with AurorEye portable ASI. Contrast enhanced. 7 seconds elapse between each frame.
Observed flow reversal of black aurora-like features from usual eastward to westward. Captured by @vincentledvina.bsky.social. Anyone have insight into this? Video at drive.google.com/file/d/1MxzH...

UNIT 15 Operated By citizen scientist Donna L captured a quiet overhead band forming evenly spaced rays (curls/turbulent areas) that evolve in to a more active chaotic arc. Maybe similar to fluids transitioning from laminar flow to turbulent flow as velocity or pressure increase?
Updates on the #AurorEye website: papers, contributions, software pipelines, 3D printed components and of course more timelapse movies on the youtube archive: auroreye.ca#updates
auroreye #15 next to an auroreye mini. The sensor on the bigger cam 16 times the area shooting at around 1/3 the exposure time, so in total about 2.5 stops better SNR for an image, all others things being equal
AurorEye mini battery powered all sky cam
Shrinking the AurorEye Printed PETG chassis. Using 10mm walls spaced with minimal infill to act as thermal insulator. Battery is above electronics to allow convection of heated air upwards, exiting through ring around lens

Hi what game is this? Thanks!
Good trip to yellowknife. AurorEye Units 10 and 11 for testing
