Pennsylvania has an important Supreme Court race coming up on Tuesday, November 4. If you live in the Keystone State, or know someone who does, vote YES to retain three justices who will protect your fundamental rights and freedoms.

This is awful for many reasons, but I would like to add that if we only allow straight Christian runners whose BMI is under 25 to work at the CDC we’ll have shit outreach and therefore shit public health.

Elordi plays the creature as a misunderstood, James Dean-like outsider with Oedipal issues rather than as an agent of evil and chaos. Even if his face and torso are latticed with suitably grotesque scars, staples and stitches, he is not only the most sympathetic character in the movie but the best-looking one too. It’s left to Oscar Isaac to provide the real villainy as the brilliant but egomaniacal scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who “fathers” the monster but then promptly disowns him.

You are not qualified to be a media critic if you misunderstand the source material this badly.

May the ghost of Mary Shelley haunt this reviewer for time and all eternity.

The Patriot Act wasn't patriotic. The No Child Left Behind Act did in fact leave many children behind. And the so-called One Big Beautiful Bill is anything but beautiful.

I want USAID back. I want lower defense spending and a greater focus on diplomacy. I want single payer healthcare and robust funding for scientific research.

I get the calculus that I’m forced to vote dem, but my opinion still matters. I didn’t vote for any of this shit.

The Trump voter has somehow taken up so much of the American imagination that we forget there can be any other types.

I am a voter who wants to expand the social safety net and loosen immigration restrictions so people can come to the US legally if they need to.

03.07.2025 23:21 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Trump and his idiots will spend a lot of time saying voters wanted him to get able-bodied people of Medicaid and increase border enforcement.

I am a voter and I did not, and never will, want that.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

“It’s a weird time. I’ve still got to get to work on time, pay my bills, manage chronic illness, all that stuff, while the world in general seems to be falling apart. It can be a challenge to juggle those two things while making sure one of them doesn't completely destroy my mental health. It’s just an odd thing to be like: ‘Oh, all of these atrocities are being committed in Gaza with my tax dollars, but what am I going to eat for dinner?’ Or: ‘Trump just dismantled another check on his power. We’re slowly sliding into fascism, nobody’s stopping him-- but what concert should we go to this weekend?’ The strangest part about the whole thing is that we’ve never been so connected. I could understand if this was eighty years ago; news travelled slowly. But now, in an instant, you get these facts, photos, videos. Verified by credible news, verified by aid organizations—and nobody cares. Well, a lot of people care. But the people who can actually fix things: they don’t care. Instead of standing up for the voiceless, they’d rather lay low, cling to their money or status. It’s hard to be a person who cares right now. Sometimes you just want to melt into your bed or couch and be with your feelings. But I won’t say that I feel hopeless. I’d never say that, because that’s what they want—those people who only care about winning, who don’t care about collateral damage. They want people to feel powerless. And I’m not going to give them that luxury. There are still reasons to be hopeful. Zohran just won the primary. And that’s a sign of change, in New York City at least. Even the people who don’t agree with his politics have to admit: his campaign was built on community. It wasn’t funded by billionaires. This was a campaign of fifty thousand people who volunteered, and canvassed, and made calls. Last week a lot of people who had been feeling powerless realized that they still have some power in this country. Let’s just hope a lot more people are learning from that.”

I know that there are many ways for us to resist - and leverage - the birthright citizenship decision. But first I want to take a minute to grieve for the children who will fall through the cracks. I want to sit with the fact that American children will lose their rights because of this.

It's really wild to just go practice law every day when every legal principal I was taught 3 years ago is getting chopped down by SCOTUS like a Redwood on top of an oil reserve.

This is an assault on the Reconstruction Amendments by a Neo-Confederate Court wedded to the far-right argument that those amendments were illegitimate and destroyed the original intent of the Founders, which was to create a white man's country

this court says that allowing EPA to regulate carbon emissions is a "major question" that demands congressional debate. but allowing the president to, with a flick of the wrist, end a straightforward constitutional right is something that must be allowed to stand?

If the Supreme Court thinks universal injunctions are unconstitutional, to wait until *now* to say that, in this of all cases, with this of all presidents, is a devastating indictment of both its impartiality and its prudence.

Zohran Mamdani’s plan to tax the rich is a 2% tax on income over $1 million.

If you make $1.1 million, you’d pay an extra $2,000.

Watching working class conservatives and politicians completely meltdown about this is wild.

People in wheelchairs are getting arrested right now in the Russell Senate Office Building in DC. They showed up to tell Congress not to cut their Medicaid, because they cant afford health care without it. If you look closely you can see the zip ties on their hands. #WeWontGetOverLosingMedicaid

There really is something special about what Zohran and Brad are showing the rest of the world what it still means to be a New Yorker and an American.

A Jew and a Muslim modeling a politics of mutual respect, rejecting cynicism. Human decency has been taking a beating but she's not out just yet!
