a thing that happens a lot in discworld is the group of joke side characters who are there for comedy throughout 90% of the story, until they get to do one(1) really cool thing at the very end.
Does this always work, comedically or dramatically? No. Do i still kind of adore it? yes

seeing how the characters change arc to arc is so cool, subconcious character development in a time loop is such an A+ concept
Seven arcs down! I havent kept up with this thread at all but things sure are progressing! Im genuinely astounded at how long each of these arcs are, yet they keep me engaged the whole time. Wild feat of storytelling for what is, at the end of the day, not actually that complex of a story
it just presents so many different threads which are all interesting in *theory* but doesnt have any follow through! And then expects you to not notice because scary gore things are happening!
This is the end of Part One! Now that the first arc is done, I'll continue working on the second, as well as my innumerable other projects lol.

I don't think that it's doing anything, honestly. All the themes and imagery are presented just because. There's no real interest in them or desire to continue exploring any particular one
Saw Weapons 2025 and I like the uhhhh, vibes? The dissociative mishmash of themes produces the occaisional interesting piece of imagery, I guess.
It's got zombie movie problems, where characters are either flattened into Fight Now or squashed into Generic Enemy by the second half of the movie.

Marsilla/Marta: Can read, they practice keeping their handwriting indistinguishable
Joanna: can read-in as many languages as possible
Adela: can read-private tutors, minumum 3 languages, probably more like 5
Sybil: can read-probably great at deciphering cursive
Eva: Can read and write beautifully, or at least 10% more beautifully than Phillipa
Phillipa: Can read. Daughter of a painter, her penmanship is excellent
WICCETTE CHARACTERS WHO CAN READ:
Kate: can read-taught as a child (in church)
Gamel: can read-taught as a child (by nuns)
Nesta: ???-Canonically doesn't recognize the alphabet of the country directly north of her own, so...

and personally, I really want to travel more! I want to get to a new part of the country that I havent been to before. I want to drive the rest of the pch. I want to get back into camping. I want to get music lessons! This will inevitably be a busy year. I just have to make sure of it.
