Fair but not an impact player doesnβt mean not a valuable supporting player

Kakko was right. Dude is one of the few + players on the team and they sit him. Cuylle is outplaying everyone but itβs the same ineffective vets out there trying to get the equalizer in the final minutes. Zibanejad was one my favorite Rangers and the fact that Kakko get scratched before him is silly
Also itβs okay that we disagree on Kakkoβs value to NYR! Perhaps we can agree that if he was going to be traded, that he was traded to Pitt with a 2nd/1st last year for Guentzel, Smith, Ruhwedel. That might have been the difference for a cupβ¦
Ah here is where we disagree.
All players are flawed. You find the right group that covers each othersβ flaws and is better than the other teams to win the cup, and some luck.
I donβt think that an AHL player brings the same caliber of defensive IQ that Kakko has. Most NHL players donβt either.
Good teams embrace good players regardless of draft position and bad teams trade them away. See Sam Bennett on Florida. He was a 4OA that Calgary moved on from who is a staple for Florida and a nuisance for other teams. See also Sam Reinhart for Florida. 2OA that Buffalo moved on from way too early.
Rather than accepting the player he has become, they got a bad return because they werenβt satisfied with his good defensive play as a supporting player.
This is precisely the issue. NYR drafted Kakko expecting a game changing player. He didnβt develop into that but is a solid middle 6 defense first forward (which this team desperately needs) on a cheap contract.
But since he didnβt turn into who they thought heβd be, they traded him for peanuts.
The car analogy is bad because draft picks are lottery tickets. Thatβs why I used the scratch off.
The car analogy works better for AAV.
This mentality is like buying a scratch off and winning $100 but being pissed that it wasnβt $1000 so you give it to your friend in exchange for a paperclip. Kakko never developed into the game dominating player but he was still a good player.

In pivoting from Twitter to here, I am making an effort to stay positive. I have a lot opinions on #NYR, their GM and certain players but I will keep those to myself.
On the bright side, the kids look great and Perreault looks like he is the real deal. The future is bright.

Oh yeah itβs all good now. Got a good neuro, good meds and a good support network.
I feel ya. Iβm a pretty lowkey person but the amount of arrogance weβve dealt with regarding medical care has been insane.
I generally do it in a super nice, no worries, itβs totally fine but just in case (100% playing dumb) kind of way and it works.
Also def get the MRI. My MS got misdiagnosed the first time because they attributed it something in my t-spine (which we now know is benign) instead of doing a c-spine and brain MRI like we should have done from the start :/
Some advice my wife shared with me: if a doctor wonβt run tests, tell them βplease make a note in my chart that I requested X test, you declined to run it and provide the justification for not running the test, just for my records pleaseβ. They typically run the tests after that.
Omgggg they are babies!
But also yes please post photos of your dog.
Iβve got a Snorlax plushie in a Rangers hat with a pair of my glasses on it because I donβt want the crazies and weirdos to know what I look like.
Not only must you own it, but you deserve it.

Fair! Sadly someone stole my PS1 and all my games when I moved many years ago. So one day I unknowingly played it for the last time.
