A slide titled โBook Reviewโ at the top and underneath is the cover for A Fellowship of Bakers & Magic by J. Penner which has illustrated baked goods and baking items that are related to the story. Under that are 4 stars to indicate the rating, the quote โAfter all, despite the traveling sun, there was always time for kindness.โ from the book, and the genres and publication year.
*4.5 Stars*
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
A Fellowship of Bakers & Magic was everything I want in a cozy fantasy with a baking competition. Honestly, itโs most of what I want in any book. It has drama, adventure, romance, friendship, delicious baked goods, and more!
The plot kept me reading and the cast of characters had me wanting to read even more! Arleta and Theo were lovely and Verdreth and Ervash are my favorite orcs of all time! Also, I canโt wait to read more about Jez and Doli and Taenya!
The only thing that kept me from giving a full five stars was that sometimes the writing got a bit repetitive, but honestly, thatโs more of a personal preference and can be very easily overlooked by another reader.
All in all, this was a wonderfully, delightful read that I would suggest to any cozy fantasy enjoyer!

There are 5 stars to indicate the rating, the quote โI feel so big.โ from the novel, and the genres and publication date listed.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC!
This is honestly one of my favorite books now. It was such a different perspective from anything Iโve ever read from the time period it was set in. It was absolutely eye-opening and attention-catching. I managed to become absolutely hooked on Doris Steeleโs life and her voice. Even in the middle of a monthsโ long reading slump, I kept getting drawn back in.
I would absolutely recommend that anyone and everyone read this book. Thank you so, so much to Mia McKenzie for writing this!!

This slide has โBook Reviewโ above the cover for The Full Moon Coffee Shop by Mai Mochizuki, which shows three cats around a full moon in the night sky. Right below the cover are four stars to show my rating, the quote โThe stars donโt decide your future. All they do is help you to choose one for yourself.โ thatโs from the book. Following this is the genre, magical realism, and the publication year, 2024.
As someone who loves cats and coffee shops and astrology, this ticked a lot of boxes for me! It was a fun, whimsical read that felt like a breath of fresh air throughout the story.
There were some places that were a little too โinfo dumpyโ to me, but overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable read!

A slide announcing a book review showing the cover of The Knight Saves the Dragon by Rebecca Crunden. The cover has an illustrated castle set among mountains and surrounded by leaves. Underneath the cover there are five stars to note the rating and the quote, โNever, ever, ever send a knight to slay a dragon.โ It then says the genres, โFantasyโ and โShort Storyโ under that, followed by the publication year, 2024.
It was only thirteen pages, but in that thirteen pages, I discovered an intriguing new realm with complex characters! I thoroughly enjoyed this short little adventure! It had twists and turns and revenge and hopeful futures (for some), so itโs basically the perfect fantasy story. My only complaint is that itโs not a full length novel, honestly.

A slide that says โBook Reviewโ above the cover of Mandrake Manor by JP Rindfleisch IX. The cover is black with green and purple writing showing the title and surrounded by sketches of the heads of an owl and a wolf, flowers, candles, a mortar and pestle, and the titular manor. Underneath the cover are four stars to show the rating, the quote โWeโre off to be the wizards!โ from the book, the genres (cozy suburban fantasy, queer, romance), and the publication date (2024).
I had such a great time with this book?? Honestly, the vibes were immaculate, and I pretty much devoured this book! The humor was spot on and the characters were so, so nice. I'm very partial to Ragand and August, but the Mandrake Coven as a whole have my entire heart.
The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because it just felt a little, I don't know, unpolished? The pacing and dialogue felt a bit off at times, but it wasn't really anything major! The plot was there and present and kept me very interested, but it didn't feel all that important until the very end. I just feel like a little bit of a longer book would have done wonders! Again, nothing that would really stop me from reading the next book in the series or anything else the author puts out!! I'm actually SUPER excited to see what comes next to Henbane Hollow and everyone there!
