I joined CBFD Indivisible last weekend to talk about how we can fight back right now and what we need to do to win a Democratic majority in Congress in November. So grateful to be working to rebuild our democracy alongside such dedicated, passionate folks like Indivisible.

The violent and deadly tactics ICE and Border Patrol are using against immigrants and citizens alike are not new or rare – this is a pattern.
Trump is trying to make CBP Commander Greg Bovino his fall guy – but that’s not good enough. We demand REAL accountability.

Last week, I voted NO on DHS’s budget. Now, the Senate is considering a short term deal so they still need to hear from YOU.
Call your Senators: (202) 224-3121 and tell them we need actual constraints to stop ICE and Border Patrol from murdering people in the streets.

Trump’s promise of peace was always empty.
In 2026, I’m focused on finding ways to lower costs, protecting the rights of our neighbors and friends, and ensuring a blue wave in the midterms – because if the past year taught us anything, it’s that we NEED a Democratic majority to rein in Trump and his Administration.
The executive branch has gone rogue – and Republicans in Congress have completely abdicated their duty to hold the Administration accountable.
Our system of checks and balances is failing because Republicans aren’t doing their jobs. It’s infuriating.
Hard to believe it’s (only) been one year since Trump was inaugurated for the second time…
The amount of damage he has done to our country will take years to undo – and some things can’t be undone at all. Critical institutions have been dismantled. People have died.
Kristi Noem should resign – or be impeached.

Just like everyone else, I watched the video of ICE shooting Renee Nicole Good in her car.
It was sickening.
And it makes the Trump Administration’s attempts to gaslight the public even more outrageous. We know what we saw. This was murder.
What happened to Renee in Minneapolis could’ve happened anywhere — to anyone. We’ve seen countless videos of ICE’s unnecessary violence in communities across this country, including San Diego.
“Absolute immunity” for ICE is bullshit. We demand accountability and justice NOW.

Women aren’t going anywhere and we’re going to keep fighting back against this bullshit. We will take up space, demand respect, and do our jobs because that’s what we’re here to do.
It’s 2025 and long overdue for this sexism (whether it’s subtle or obvious) to end. Because this is really about power — who has it, who’s denied it, and who’s constantly forced to prove themselves and their worth.
Every day, women in every sector are routinely undermined, overlooked, and “put in our place” by men. Men are the default expert, the ones automatically taken seriously, and women are sidelined no matter their credentials.
Two weeks ago, it was an op-ed asking if women ruined the workplace.
Yesterday, it was the President telling a female reporter “quiet, piggy” when she was doing her job.
Today, it was a meeting where every question was directed to my more junior male colleague instead of me.
Some days, it’s hard to remember that change is possible — but not today. The House and Senate voted to release the Epstein files. Texas maps were overturned. We won New Jersey and Virginia and passed Prop 50. Tomorrow will be another fight, but today, let’s enjoy the wins.
