Not sure I fully agree. Their privacy policy is one of the most 'plain english' ones I've read, tbh.
And I'm disappointed to see security professionals/industry aligned media adding to the FUD instead of gently correcting user misperceptions to something more realistic.
So from what I can see ProtonMail complied with a Swiss gov legal request to hand over payment data, which everyone is obliged to keep for tax reasons, and the user had not used an anonymous payment method.
But PM are the bad guys? Have I got that right?
