Lemme know if it's any good!
Idt the books are out in english yet but there's an anime that covers the first three that is apparently pretty good
a bit suspicious that lila saw punch the monkey and is trying to go viral
for*
I blame @brainvsbook.bsky.social and her blog fot this new addiction
Counting down to seeing a "cats are spiritually Zionist" post in 3, 2, 1...
I let the Jessie Buckley Hates Cats discourse marinate for a couple of days and already the discourse has evolved into "hating Jessie Buckley and not Paul Mescal sexist" and "BUT WHAT ABOUT ROMAN POLANSKI".
Beautiful. No notes.
Heian-era inspired Japanese epic fantasy about bird-people ๐ฅน
The Yatagarasu novels by Chisato Abe are SO good, bloody hell.
It took over a decade but I finally found a fantasy novel series that scratches that Robin Hobb Farseer/Liveship addictive fantasy series itch.
(She didn't even give the best portrayal of a grieving mother this/last year!)
(This is your periodic reminder from me that Bring Her Back was the best horror film of 2025 and in a just world Sally Hawkins would be getting showered with awards)
(Plus maybe she likes cats idk)
The lady was nice and gently guilt tripped me into buying the whole set, so.
Have gone right off Jessie Buckley after that interview, if it's true she made her partner give up his pets. I don't give a crap if people don't like cats or dogs but making someone give up an animal they made a commitment to is shit unless there's a very good reason.
(I like Sinners a lot but I rate The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, OBAA and Marty Supreme higher).
(Wish Renate Reinsve could scoop the Best Actress win instead of Jessie Buckley but there's a snowball's chance in hell)
(Wish Wagner Moura and Stellan Skarsgรฅrd would win too)
Peter Bradshaw is right and The Secret Agent absolutely should win Best Picture, but it won't.
Also I feel like the discourse on the internet will be unbearable if Sinners doesn't win so maybe it should just win it so we can all have a peaceful life.

buenas noches
yes please protect me from the scary lady
now remembering the american twitter user who spiralled when she found out we call them charity shops.
i hope she is doing okay too x
i saw a cute ceramic cat in the window of a closed cancer research shop* so i googled to find their opening times and it's all one star reviews about the terrifying lady who runs the shop and insults customers and now i have the fear
*title of the next lana del rey album
getting a chinese for dinner (because payday) and remembering that time an american twitter user spiralled because she hated how in the uk we say "going for a chinese/indian/etc" when we get a takeaway.
i hope she is doing ok.
i like that this is an album for the cat ladies (my demographic)
going to play this to jack next time he appears in the garden for his breakfast or tea
i like mitski's new album.
are you sure you're not just one of those yoofs with your toktiks and your tvtubes?
Yeah exactly. I find it very easy to sleep on trains so sometimes it's just an opportunity for music and a nap.
To be fair UK newspapers either not indicating if an article is written by their US office or just randomly only having US info is part of the problem.
("I don't know what streaming on Peacock is")
All the ~massive advancements~ in A.I. and it still can't understand when you repeatedly tell it you want the UK release date/streaming platform for something and not the US one.
Ditto only ever looking up Japanese words and it always assuming you're looking for Chinese ones.

forgive me jesus*
but "forgive jesus" is making me laugh so i won't correct it
I really like books and I'll often be reading on the train, at a busstop etc, but there is almost no discourse more annoying to me than "and I got on a TRAIN and everyone was on their PHONES"
(shockingly~ some days I also like to look at my phone on the train, forgive jesus)
I know I won't be able to wear it until Christmas/winter 2027, but fuck it.
