I wanna be excited for new Eva but it's giving darling in the Franxx 2 and I am not able to elaborate.
The additions to the story aren't all bad, but a lot of them feel like an attempt at adding more easily acheieveable scares, and it just doesn't work. The movie runs out of ideas on how to freak you out about 80 minutes in and just tries to do light body horror and lore drops to make up for it.
Markipiler is not, nor will he ever be, a Keanu Reeves like no matter how much this film tries to mindbreak me into thinking other wise.
I fully admit I went into this expecting a shitshow and it absolutely isn't one. It's just aggressively meh and feels like it would've worked better as a short or just a short-er film.
