FINISHED GRADING FINALS! Finally can enjoy a three day weekend and get some of my own writing done. I got home and saw some goodies had come in for me. The book on the left was a treat to myself, because, well, the title should say it all. The other I have wanted for some time for my own research.

I’ve heard him discuss his thesis before, and we had a great time discussing it further at SBL, but I was particularly happy to hear about his position on the soteriological purpose of John being human deification. I am definitely with him on that front. This will likely be a fun read. (2/2)

I came home to a pleasant surprise today. My friend, Hugo Mendez, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at UNC Chapel Hill, kindly sent me a copy of his new book I’ve been looking forward to reading, featuring his fresh take on the Gospel of John and the Johannine literary tradition. (1/2)
