Keep seeing all those 'dissertation defended' posts cuz it's that time of year & meanwhile I'm here fighting for my life crawling through my last 2 semesters of courses before I start mine. Kinda regretting doing a trad. PhD rather than write as you go but am seeing the mountaintop now at least
I find this just as I am waking up from my third nap taken to avoid the reading I need to do right now as I'm entering week 7 of an 8 week course that I don't love.

Lol prescription ibuprofen and imitex for me. Have you tried that navage sinus machine? It's been a game changer for me.
For me it's sinus pressure releasing. In the cold the liquids in my sinuses can freeze and swell and the ones close to the ear canal put pressure behind my eye which triggers my headaches.

Yeah I did my whole weeks worth of reading and a discussion post today so I could do the paper that's due next Sunday tomorrow because I just want it done with. I'm over it. Can't wait until the day I have weekends again.
Thanks. It's just a real grind right now. I am also getting tired of shelling out the money. But with only 3.5 courses and a comps exam and dissertation to go I'm just gonna keep slogging through. Hugs to you too.. here's hoping we can both see some sun soon! 🤗
I'm in a depressed rut right now. The suns barely appeared since the week before Thanksgiving and my mixed methods course is intense and I've been feeling defeated at work. I'd do a whole lot for the chance to ignore spf recommendations and just bake on sand in some hot sun.
For sure! My boyfriend is considering taking a big job (someone asked for a quote for a whole basement remodel) and is willing to consider a cruise but only if we stay close and don't bring our phones. Guess it's back to the old days of digital cameras.

Hes convinced his neighbors think he's a creepy rapist who listens to dirty audio books over and over and over. I guess in retrospect it's good we broke up so I'm not living that weird life of dirty erotica on repeat.
He got fired from one account because he told the publisher he thought the person reading one especially dirty one was racist as the narrator was clearly an old white guy and it felt wrong. So they fired him. So if the voice sucked at least it wasn't rapey and racist?
So my 1st love was an audio engineer until covid and he lost everything. He went from mixing albums of Kendrick lamar and Neil young - to mixing audiobook tracks in Ohio. Specifically he keeps getting booked for African American erotica romance novels.
My ex was literally the worst. But 1 of the best things he ever did was 1 night when we went to dinner on the last day of the school year & I was exhausted & never wanted to see an 11-13 year old again for months & said 'sorry we need a different table' as he saw a group of them heading towards us
It's my least favorite part of the job to be sure. Also people have zero empathy for how tough that part of it can be. There are mornings when my staff calling off prevents me from showering or working out because the complex puzzle has to be completed and communicated out by 630 am.

#edusky I'm not ready to go back to work on Monday. Really miss those 3 week Winter Breaks when I was at an extended school year campus. (Week off in Oct and Nov, 3 weeks off at Xmas, 2 week Spring break in March and 4 day weekend in April. Start date 1st Mon in August last student day 6.30)
