Last week, the International Criminal Court #ICC held hearings for the confirmation of charges relating to Rodrigo #Duterte. The pre-trial judges have 60 days for their decision on the charges, and whether there is sufficient evidence to move to trial. share.google/KDEf6RaVTSzY...
Best believe your Bar review enthusiasts do not read beyond Bar review materials.
The absolute whiplash experienced by Philippine "international law professors" (Bar review enthusiasts) who have cheered on international law to work last week (vs Duterte) and now publicly declaring their feelings of bewilderment over what is happening, that perhaps international law should fail.

The lines of Joel Butuyanβs opening statement should be seared in all of our minds, in our history forevermore. This is what the ICC proceedings mean for the victims. That last boat. And he reminds us what Duterte did to all of us. To our society. To our culture.
Those Drug War years felt like hell and maybe we will never truly patch those parts of ourselves, even as we are now away. I find great comfort in what Raffy Lerma told me: βandito tayo ngayon dahil trabaho natin to.β We are here today because this is our work. May Duterteβs victims get justice.
