First read this as "Darksiders" and thought you were on to something.
The biggest lie fans tell themselves is that theyβll be back next year
It's going to be tough to follow because the first half of it is a recap of most of season 2. It's like a well executed fan edit. The second half is an early preview of season 3 with the first two episodes. You'll have trouble understanding the big moments but the fights are fucking great.
Arriving on Tallon IV and having the rain hit my visor when I looked up is still one of my favorite gaming moments.
One of the worst parts about these ghouls is any effort to explain how grotesque and inhumane their opinions are is then spun in their heads as proof of them being bold and righteous truth tellers.
Isaac Avilucea's shitty Twitter bio and picture
lots going on here
earnestness is punk rock. libraries are punk rock. cleaning up litter is punk rock. everything is punk rock except making loud fast music that annoys your neighbors
Vinland Saga is extraordinary and its ending is beautiful. I truly can't recommend this story enough, even if you aren't normally into manga and anime.
This is one of the first anime series I fell in love with, and I can't believe my parents let my sister and I buy those criminally overpriced VHS tapes.
Metaphor: ReFantazio cover art
11. Metaphor: ReFantazio - Nocturne remains my favorite Atlus game, but all of the little quality of life advancements over the years combined with an original world culminates in arguably their best work.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 cover art
10. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Preordered this based on the previews and ho boy is it a beautiful gem. Not much to add except to echo the chorus of praise.
Avowed cover art
9. Avowed - Really enjoyed this as someone who thinks that Outer Worlds is underrated. Always a pleasure to be back in Eora, but I think the writing is often one or two steps from being great instead of just good. Some of the most fluid movement and combat in the genre.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered cover art
8. The Last of Us Part II Remastered - New game plus run of a game I love. Deeply painful how terribly the show adapted this material and failed to convey its themes and characters. Game is still great, though.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door cover art (GameCube art but I played the Switch version)
7. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Remake) - Another disappointment. Dreadful amount of backtracking, even with the changes. It started to click towards the end, but I think the crazy skill ceiling people talk about is only necessary for challenge runs and the end of the Pit of 100 Trials.
Monster Hunter Wilds cover art
6. Monster Hunter Wilds - Biggest disappointment so far this year. I started playing it again for Title Update 2, but there's a real sense that I'm trying to like it instead of simply enjoying it. Maybe I'll get hooked for the DLC.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle cover art
5. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - The third best Indiana Jones movie after Last Crusade and Raiders. I expected it to be trash when it was revealed, but this game is a real blast.
Dragon Age Origins - Ultimate Edition cover art
4. Dragon Age: Origins - Fun replay inspired by the somewhat recent release of Vanguard. Much like ME1, it's incredible how much world building Bioware packed into the first entry. The combat system felt far more bare bones than I remembered, but I think playing Pathfinder has ruined me.
Cover of Nine Sols
3. Nine Sols - Up there with Hollow Knight as one of the best 2D soulslikes. Exploration isn't as strong as other metroidvanias, but the combat shines with a hall of fame roster of bosses. Surprisingly good story, too!
Cover of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
2. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Fun little game that feels more like a DLC than a standalone. Always a pleasure to spend time with Miles.
Cover of Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed
Starting a thread to all the games I've beaten this year inspired by a video games reporter (sadly I forgot which one!).
1. Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed - Wonderful coda to the series and large enough to be its own game. A little overstuffed, but that's what you get with Xenoblade.
Rufo RTs Cremieux: The story is here. We caught Zohran Mamdani applying to Columbia... As a Black man.
worth noting the pipeline here:
* Trump-supporting anons hack Columbia data
* Nazi twitter accounts dig around in the data
* NYT picks up on Nazi substack posts, publishes Zohran story to damage his campaign
* Chris Rufo immediately boosting the story
maybe the funniest thread to exist

One of several reasons I have trouble approaching these trans political issues with much βnuanceβ is because once you even briefly ignore any of the βdebatesβ around minorsβ healthcare, the reality is shockingly simple which is they, mostly the entirety of the GOP, is coming after these familiesβ¦
I respect this sentiment, however, in 2020 the National Guard flew a helicopter right above protesters in DC. While a massacre is very unlikely, they have demonstrated force when deployed by the Trump admin.
Carlotta even says it twice to Matt in the same episode!
The most embarrassing thing I've seen on this app over the past two years is everyone jumping on the Knicks bandwagon while pretending it's not a bandwagon.
Congratulations Shinji on a cake
I canβt get over my cousinβs graduation cake.
