Audition is the first novel I’ve set in the United States, the first novel I’ve set in the city I live in. So it’s particularly meaningful to see it named a finalist for the Gotham Book Prize. Thank you to the jury and congratulations to all the finalists!

The day before we left Rome, I visited Romana Londi's studio. I wrote a short story in response to one of her paintings as we finished packing up our apartment, and now here they both are in the @royalacademyarts magazine.
