I think those same people would’ve loved to behave this way with previous conflicts, but they knew they’d have been shamed out of it. Now, there are no repercussions for being an absolute monster and for treating the deaths of other human beings as funny.
I first heard of enshittification last year, but since then I've read a ton of articles about it. It really explains a lot of what is happening in the world.
