Humanity heating planet faster than ever before, study finds Researchers identify sharp rise to about 0.35C every decade, after excluding natural fluctuations such as El Niño

It doesn’t matter whether the rate of global warming is increasing. It’ll never cease to amaze me that people don’t care that it’s happening at all. It should be the most alarming thing ever.

Uncertainties of enhanced rock weathering for climate-change mitigation - Nature Reviews Earth & Environment Enhanced rock weathering (ERW) is a carbon dioxide removal (CDR) strategy that converts atmospheric CO2 to stable carbonates by applying minerals to agricultural land. Enhanced rock weathering (ERW) on agricultural soils is being considered as a carbon dioxide removal strategy. However, uncertainties remain regarding feedstock availability, plant-soil impacts, CDR efficiency, and socio-economic considerations, limiting large-scale deployment. 🧪

Bannon, Epstein, Farage and Johnson and the Plot to 'Topple' Theresa May The far-right former Trump adviser told Jeffrey Epstein that "we are overthrowing May right now" as he worked with Boris Johnson to remove the then Conservative Prime Minister from office

The Epstein files grant us a rare glimpse into the kind of machinations that must be happening all the time. As @bylinetimes.bsky.social reveals, Trump's fixer, Steve Bannon, helped Boris Johnson overthrow Theresa May. Blatant foreign interference in our politics. 🧵

A study suggests that the South Atlantic is the ideal location to monitor the future weakening of the AMOC. This is because the short-term natural variability in the North Atlantic is effectively filtered out in the South. 🌊🧪 ocean2climate.org/2026/02/21/w...

Climate change could expose 1.1 billion people to hunger by 2100 (but there’s good news too) – AI modelling study Without rapid cuts to fossil fuels and a shift to clean energy, climate change could drive over a billion into hunger by 2100, hitting Africa hard.

Climate extremes × demographic momentum = famine amplification

Climate change could expose >1.1 billion people to at least one severe food crisis by 2100 under high emissions

Mitigation halves the risk
