I’m seeing a ton of this floating around.

It’s true, we’re bombing the hell out of Iran, but this war isn’t as one sided as they’d have you believe. In a week, the US has lost at least two (possibly more) AN/TPY-2 radar.

We have less than 15 of them and they take years to make.

Oil up by $12 a barrel in less than 12 hours.

Gas prices skyrocketing.

Almost 100,000 jobs lost last month.

Another war in the Middle East.

Are we great again yet?

Radar bases housing key US missile interceptor hit in Jordan and UAE, satellite images show | CNN New satellite images from several key military bases in the Arabian Peninsula suggest that Iran is seeking to degrade air defenses by destroying US-made radars that detect incoming missiles and drones...

Oof. Multiple THAAD radar systems have reportedly been destroyed by Iran. That’s bad.

I’ve also seen some surprise that Russia is providing Iran with targeting data for US forces, but that was expected. We’ve been providing Ukraine with targeting data for 4 years.

The fuck kind of answer is this

And that’s how congressional hearings are supposed to work.

Hopefully there will be some fraud charges to go with it.

But way to shit your pants and change your shirt, Trump.

Trump is quizzing people on the Hill on whether or not he should fire Noem.

A lot of them are saying yes.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Kristi Noem and Lewandowski funneled almost 200 million in government money to a company that is run by her friend and that nobody can give an address for.

Oh, and it was 8 days old when it was awarded the contract.

Just a thought, maybe SecDef shouldn’t jerk himself off on live television at the thought of casualties in war.

War isn’t something to be giddy about. Were the most powerful nation on the planet. We’re supposed to be the quiet professionals, not carnival barking morons.

Bunch of Senators on both sides sounding the alarm about possible boots on the ground in Iran after their classified briefing today.

I was told Kamala was going to send my children to fight in Iran. What happened?

I need to stress something here:

The US destroying Iran’s navy is about as impressive as prime Michael Jordan dunking on a toddler.

I know the administration needs something to brag about, but this outcome was literally never in question.

This is fantastic. I just wish they had courage before they announced retirement

I love it, but it would be nice if they had courage before they announced retirement.

It’s hard to say, because there’s some evidence that Iranian forces aren’t using much of their top tier stuff yet.

We’ve only seen a few missiles with submunitions so far.

Whether that means they’re saving them for later, or that they simply don’t have many is up for debate.

03.03.2026 11:59 πŸ‘ 138 πŸ” 11 πŸ’¬ 4 πŸ“Œ 0

Finally, the military has hard stop inventory requirements for true β€œbreak glass in case of emergency” situations.

These are minimum stock levels that we won’t go below unless absolutely necessary, based on projected needs for a major war.

I just hope the admin listens.

03.03.2026 11:54 πŸ‘ 1284 πŸ” 139 πŸ’¬ 52 πŸ“Œ 3

We’re already seeing mission creep. We went from β€˜a week of strikes’ to β€˜maybe 4-5 weeks’ in literally a day.

I’m reminded of the conservative panic that Obama was using all our bombs on ISIS, and I hope someone is telling Trump that no, we can’t actually do this forever.

2. Trump is already floating the idea of tapping into supplies at other combatant commands.

Talking about taking from PACOM to feed CENTCOM on day 3 is… rough.

At this point, it’s a race to destroy their missiles before we have to ration our interceptors.

1. Trump is already doing his hyperbolic: β€œwe could do this forever!” nonsense.

I’ve often joked that the military has so many stockpiles that our stockpiles have stockpiles, and that’s largely still true for offensive weapons.

Not the case for defense.

03.03.2026 11:54 πŸ‘ 786 πŸ” 135 πŸ’¬ 32 πŸ“Œ 5

Standard doctrine calls for using 2 (or more) interceptors per missile to increase chances of a successful hit.

At some point, this just becomes a math problem.

What does that look like? Eventually, you get to extreme interceptor rationing and accepting leakage.

03.03.2026 11:54 πŸ‘ 708 πŸ” 63 πŸ’¬ 6 πŸ“Œ 2

Interceptors are expensive and slow to produce, especially when compared with the relative speed of cheap ballistic missiles and drones.

This quote nails it:

β€œThey can chuck garbage at us for substantially longer than we can chuck Lamborghinis at them.”

03.03.2026 11:54 πŸ‘ 1065 πŸ” 161 πŸ’¬ 8 πŸ“Œ 11

Let’s talk Iranian war.

You’ve probably seen a lot of hand-wringing over missile interceptor quantities. Are we running out? Can we fight for years?

As usual, the answer is somewhere in the middle.

Bottom line up front: interceptors are a finite resource. That’s a fact.

Well, we did it because of the protesters

Nukes

I mean they’re building an ICBM

We did it defensively because Iran was going to attack us

I mean Israel was gonna do it anyway so we did it too

They were gonna attack us because Israel was gonna attack them so we attacked them

Who the fuck voted for that?
