Just days ago, @hannahdormido.bsky.social and I explained how large Trump's proposed arch near Arlington Cemetery would be, and how it would change DC's skyline.

News: I was cut yesterday in a newsroom-wide layoff affecting 300+ staff at The Washington Post.
I spent the last decade leading and building the award-winning Graphics team. I'll miss them.
I'm now exploring senior graphics, cartography, or leadership roles. Intros welcome.

The bright magenta stop was supposed to be that visual flag, but I hit some snags in the production and needed to shift my focus toward getting it done by deadline. Best thing about news graphics is the rapid iteration. Next time will be better!
Fair point! And if I were to approach this again Iβd probably take a slightly different angle with that ramp. My original intent was to show the hot areas in the US and how they rivaled traditionally βknown hot placesβ in the world, like the Sahara.
Time to change the clocks on Sunday β but what if we donβt? www.washingtonpost.com/nation/inter...
Used @washingtonpost.com push alerts to visualize the deluge of Trump's executive orders and actions in the first six weeks of his second term, while @sadbumblebee.buzz helped make sense of all the chaos: wapo.st/4i31t4x
Tariffs! Car Parts! Maps!
We looked into the wild cross-country travel car parts go on before they're finally assembled into a vehicle βΒ & how Trump's proposed tariffs could raise the cost of business all across the network.

A byline should reflect the work that went into producing the story. If it takes a dozen people to report and build, a dozen names should be on the byline.
Obtained internal documents show step-by-step plans to target diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. We reproduced portions of the plan showing how they align with what has happened and what they say is next. Gift link:

Super work here by @janicekchen.bsky.social and @bonnieberkowitz.bsky.social
Iβve had such a blast in this role so far! If youβre thinking about applying and have questions, feel free to reach out.

Aww thanks. We miss you Lauren!

Pennsylvania, which was a pivotal state for both campaigns. The still frame doesnβt do it justice and we walk through it in the story.
Our latest, which published on Friday-- visualizing all the votes in the election as grains of sand. Here, we tried to solve the "land doesn't vote" problem that many election maps have. gift link: wapo.st/4epUEHF
Hey everyone, new to this space. I work at The Post and every once-in-a-while I get to build things. I love to make graphics and maps that explain our world. Each time, I strive to try a few things that are a little bit different.
