I have skillfully avoided what happened live at 5am - because I wasn't awake, obviously- put on Sky Sports at the time they say the Qualifying replay is on and it's... Ted's notebook. πŸ₯²

Uh, guess I'll check back in a little bit? Or wait for Channel 4 at 1pm?

The Spanish language ESPN call of Carré’s try is, predictably, absolutely top notch.

Heading up North London for this tonight. It should be a lot of fun! And then Part 2 with #WrestleQueendom on Sunday too. 🀘🀼

A photo of the cover of Computing Magazine, featuring "IT at full throttle" - an article in which I interviewed Red Bull Racing's Head of IT about BIG DATA, as was the style at the time.

This just popped up from the archive. Apparently this week marks 13(!) years since I had my first cover feature back when I was working for Computing Magazine. Back when there was still a print edition too.

A lot has changed in that time. While also, a lot has not, I suppose...

Then, of course, I feel bad and anxious about my mind perhaps snobbily implying that people are just... not smart.

I often worry and get confused about how so much of the general public seem to have welcomed outsourcing their critical thinking capabilities out LLMs.

I recently played the original Tomb Raider for the first time in at least 25 years. I'm unsure how child me actually beat sections of that game without outside help.

I hear that introducing The War Queer between two canonically established queers as part of the anniversary special was quite controversial but ultimately paid off.

@joetidy.bsky.social I'd say you wouldn't believe the amount of canned 'expert commentary' I've recieved from cyber firms on the TFL story you broke this morning... but given how long you've been in this game, I suspect you actually would. πŸ˜…

I'm going from London to Bristol later this month. Journey is under 90 minutes. Β£75 return... and that includes the discount up to Reading or something with a Network Railcard.

Cardiff in a few weeks. Almost Β£100 in advance. πŸ’€

I'm out and about this evening and won't be able to see the game. Quite shocking, but, uh, probably for the best?

"At the time the company only disclosed that "some" customers had been affected, but has now confirmed that millions of people had their personal data taken."

Well, TEN MILLION is "some" I suppose... yikes, TFL.

My ICQ UIN is 7231680. That number is burned into my consciousness. I inadvertently learned that you could see private conversations in public chat rooms when using Telnet instead of a browser on GeoCities. I can tell you the difference in audible dial-up handshakes between 1200, 2400, 14.4 kbps modems. I needed a edu email address to join Facebook after my university was admitted. We were here at the beginning. We made social media. You wouldn't be in my Top 8. I have usernames older than you.

If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.
