ik commenting is hard, but u don't have to write a dissertation- even “this was amazing” or “i loved this” makes writers happy. it feels like some people treat fic writers like untouchable writing machines and don’t realize they’re fellow fans, who likely would love chatting abt their work with u

listen i love ao3 as much as the next guy but ive seen people quit fic writing over the past few years because people comment and engage with authors way less, and then everyone still freaks out when ao3 goes down- if a fic is irreplaceable to u, let the author know!

What began as separate drawings became something shared, something alive.

This exists because of the artists, their time, and their hearts. And because of everyone who never stopped caring.

We chose the name Aeonian because it represents what this project means to us: something that endures.

Not only Rey and Ben, but the way this fandom continues to create, to love, and to show up for a story that still matters to us.

Aeonian (Greek): something eternal, timeless — lasting through the ages.

For this animation 37 artists came together to celebrate our love with passion and hard work.

I'm saying all this to myself, but maybe there's someone else out there who needs to hear this.

Long story short, I'll be gone for a while. Take care y'all <3

There is plenty of time to work on that fic. Let it cook. Wait for it until it's ready. It takes as long as it takes. If you turn up the heat too much you might end up burning it. And then you'll be sad. And we don't want you to be sad.

What frustrates me the most is that these last two AUs are my favourite ever, and they did not turn out at all the way i imagined them. Surely I'll pick it up one day again and do the art I want to do. But that day is not today, and that's ok.

I'm saying that for myself, but maybe someone else needs to hear it, too. It's okay. Recharge for a week, 2, 3, a month even if you need to. If you make art with frustration it's only natural to feel very frustrated about the outcome. Art should be fun and full of passion.

Don't force yourself into creating when your body and mind tells you otherwise. It's okay to take a break. This burning urge to constantly create had become normal to me, and now that I cannot I am very close to feeling like a failure. But it's okay, and even necessary.
