To specify it’s my cartilage area that is always cold. Also, wow I had no idea snot could freeze to the jewelry. My nose always gets runny when I’m out in the cold.
Honestly I have never noticed if it makes my nose colder or not. I have one hoop on each side. They are comfortable to me but ymmv. The cold tends to not bother me as much. My ears get it way worse but even before piercings they were like that.
