ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.
We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.
Their tone became more conciliatory than they've been, they're reducing occupying forces & the removing Greg Bovino from the city. Keep pressure on businesses to speak up and demand accountability and change.
One thing I haven’t seen discussed enough: only after more than 60 Minneapolis/Minnesota–based CEOs signed a public letter released by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce calling for de-escalation of federal immigration enforcement in the state, did the White House & feds change their tune.
I do not think Alex Pretti gets shot if ICE/DHS officers don't wear masks. The masks provide cover for their illegal actions.
Needless to say that Renee Good and Alex Pretti will go down as heroes here in Minnesota and nationally, their names synonymous with sacrifice and caring for vulnerable neighbors even at the risk of your own life. And hopefully no more innocent lives are lost.
If he's focused on you, that means he's not focused on POC. Keep poking that bear, even now that he's gone.
Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country.
As so many have now seen on video, his final act before he was killed by federal agents was doing everything in his power to protect his community.

A DHS statement claimed “an individual approached US Border Patrol officers” with “a handgun” in the Alex Pretti shooting incident. A Bellingcat analysis of the footage appears to show that a gun was taken away from where Pretti was situated by an agent just before the first shot was fired.
You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.
Maybe call this "The Food Desert Expansion Act"
