I've always wanted to donate blood and signed up to do so at a blood drive in my uni a few months after my 18th birthday (aka when I wouldn't need parental consent). Almost passed out after 300ccs. Turns out I was diagnosed with anemia at 10 and that's why my mom didn't want me to donate blood.
