If you don't want to revive the Dundee Banking Company then simply relocate the UK's central bank to Port Talbot, rename it the Bank of Wales, and stick dragons on EVERYTHING.

This is a reasonable and proportionate proposal and I will not hear a word against it.

A day filled with poignant reflection as the permanent exhibition dedicated to the plaster casts of ancient Pompeians opened in #Pompeii.
At last they are given context: where, when and how they were found, what they were found with, and details such as their sex and approximate age.

There was a public consultation and a vote, the public *chose* animals. Why are you playing into Tory culture war nonsense?

There was a public consultation and a vote, we voted to have animals on the notes this time around, I dunno why Kemi "never met a rake I wouldn't like to step on" Badenoch is making a thing out of it.

Everything goes on my card, I'd have to look up the last time I spent actual cash.

Two astronauts in space, looking at the earth. One astronaut is pointing a gun at the other.
The first astronaut says "You mean it's all logistics?"
The second one says "always has been."

We voted to have animals. It's James and the Tories who are insisting it needs to be people.

There's an otter on one of the Scottish bank notes, why can't we have hedgehogs and seals and things?

We could do a series with vulnerable British dog breeds, like the Lakeland terrier, the corgi, the Gordon setter.

I love this time of year, when I get my pay notification and then all the other notifications about all the fecking bills going up. 🙄

I'm not an expert but I had a chat with someone at work who is rapidly becoming one because he's our insurance director and I work for a property management company.
Yes, is the short answer. If the battery is damaged, faulty, over-charged or charged incorrectly, that can trigger thermal runaway.

When I said 'Kemi Badenoch is so partisan, under her the Tories would oppose puppies and kittens if Labour said something nice about them', I didn't mean it literally.

thermal runaway - effectively an out of control feedback loop. Battery catches fire, heat, next battery catches fire, more heat, more fire, wheeeee. Then in these old buildings that have been chopped up and subdivided there's weird voids and "chimneys" that carry the fire unexpectedly.

I *think* Kemi now thinks we shouldn't be joining the US and Israel but we should be bombing on our own accord, but that was yesterday and I presume she's slept since then, so she could have changed her mind.

#NavalHistory people! Help! Our local museum has a life raft we're trying to research. Does anyone know anything about it? It is triangular, and is stamped with a 1940 date.

92 wild-born babies now, whose mothers came to us as orphans. They grew up. They went wild. They started families.

Long shot, but does anyone know of any regular art/craft/illustration type evenings in Bristol? Something not too formal, a chance to hang out with people as much as anything. Asking (genuinely) for a friend.

LET'S NOT PLAY FRISBEE WITH THAT POET ANYMORE.

[This is a comic strip, with a poem laid over it. On each panel a new line of the poem is written. The scene is a park, in the summer. A man in a trenchcoat - implicitly Philip Larkin - stands folorn, motionless, looking at people throwing a frisbee. It becomes apparent as the comic progresses that they are trying to play frisbee with him. He stand stock still for the whole comic, watching the frisbee as, panel by panel it soars closer and closer to him].

After contemplating the approaching frisbee for two silent panels, Philip begins his thoughts:

Unloosed, unheralded,
You soar toward me
Across the dying afternoon.

bright disc of childhood,
Long since thrown wide
Of Youth's green imaginings,

Your slow declining arc
Figures a sky-written truth:
We will all succumb, and soon

To earth's hard oblivion.

[The frisbee hits Philip on the head with a resounding DONK. He falls backwards, to the ground.

[Ends]
