They canβt figure out how to spend the extra $500 billion they gave themselves for the military, but cut our healthcare and food assistance because they said they couldnβt afford it.
Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. Itβs always a matter of will not resources.

"Iron laws of the world"? Some of America's most important national accomplishments are about leading humanity away from this kind of bullshit.
If we let ideologues like Stephen Miller drag us back into a world where brute force is all that matters, all of us will be less safe.
Hey so this seems like something more people should be talking about π€ π³οΈ

Most accurate 2025 map Iβve seen yet
The White House has been caught.
The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.
In reality, itβs a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Rossβs own children.
Most of the scientists at the nonprofit that I cofounded, including my two cofounders, came from NCAR. Itβs hard to overstate the importance of this place for climate science.
Key misunderstanding I want to get ahead of: NCAR isn't really a government agency like NIH or NSF. It's one of the largest NSF grants in history, and is given to a non-profit org called UCAR, whose job is to make NCAR exist (www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/...). That means the buck stops with NSF right now
As someone not with NCAR, I use NCAR-based software everyday to help identify and track regions of excessive precipitation to help NWS forecasters protect lives and property. NCAR is extremely valuable and we need them.
NCAR is quite literally our global mothership.
Everyone who works in climate and weather has passed through its doors and benefited from its incredible resources.
Dismantling NCAR is like taking a sledgehammer to the keystone holding up our scientific understanding of the planet.
Unbelievable.
This is really trouble.
An absolute bedrock institution for understanding how the planet works, just civilization-scaled vandalism by the most incurious morons on Earth
Thank you!

What a photograph.

Priorities.
Fetterman. *spits* A pox on him
Itβs time for new leadership
Trump has now overseen the two longest government shutdowns in history β with the current one reaching 36 days.
He ran on fixing a broken system and helping working people.
Instead, heβs making the system even worse and shafting working people by gutting the social safety net.
Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 84th day out of the last 96.
12 days of work in over 3 months.
With full pay and benefits.
The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.
It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.
On the destruction of the White House. π‘π‘
A tweet from BrooklynDad_Defiant! says: βNo words. If you think a golden ballroom is more important than childhood cancer research... I have nothing left to say to you.β The image shows an illustration of a bald child in a hospital gown, holding an IV pole and looking into an opulent golden ballroom filled with formally dressed adults.
Itβs more than just bad priorities. Itβs about lack of basic decency.
A 30 second reminder that you didnβt see nothin. #snitchesgetstitches
One police department in Maine ended an agreement after 900 people signed a petition opposing it.
I'm not sure you can get more marie antoinette than taking away food stamps before thanksgiving while you build a gold and marble dance hall so the other crooks can bring bribe you over a badly-cooked (argentinian) steak
