There is nothing wrong with going into "dad mode" or what I also like to call home improvement mode IMO.

Getting your ears pierced isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I would suggest going to a piercing studio as they use medical grade equipment and keep a clean environment as well. You would barely feel it and it will heal better than chain places that use the guns.
