If you are interested in gaming, usually of the board-type variety, our community is open to you. You do not need to have experience, you do not need to own 20+ different sets of dice (they call to me), and you do not need to have played in any RPG to be a part of our community.
The IGA has a DEI Policy that strictly prohibits discrimination on the grounds of gender, marital status, family status, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion, and membership of the Traveller community.
The gaming community is built from diversity, with people from all backgrounds contributing to this hobby we share. The IGA wouldnβt be where it is without the contributions of countless volunteers, many of whom are in the LGBTQ+ community.
I think itβs obvious to say that we are seeing an increase in intolerance and hate in the world. Between the US being what it is, the UK putting laws into place that negatively impact all of our sisters, and intolerance rearing its ugly head elsewhere, there is no room for silence.
Your newly elected IGA Chair here with a few words to say.
This past week (13th β 19th) was Trans Awareness Week and Trans Day of Remembrance is here, November 20th.

Now that we've seen off the snow, this Thursday's (Jan 16) Thursday night gaming will feature Carcasonne - usual venue (Ryan's), kick off 7pm. Let's get some tiles rolling in the new year, with some important questions like 'is it really worthwhile putting my last meeple there?"

Cards from the game horrified, a d20 and a mysterious boardgame token featuring a painted image of a lady dressed in blue robes and a pointy blue hat
Bit of lost and found from last night, they were all found in the bar area beside the main hall, the cards are from a game called Horrified, the d20 is a d20 but we have no idea what the token is from.
They can be collected from the boardgames room.
Folks, unfortunately the convention centre parking is full, alternative options are park at the airport and take the Crowne Plaza's shuttle bus here or park at the Omni and make you way down from there.
We're not saying this because of the marathon but there wasn't one yesterday and it was fine....
One of the lovely things @gaelcon.bsky.social have done is name many of the rooms after the Rivers of London. Mama Thames is hosting a positively bouncing board games library
