I REMEMBER.
In 1981, nearly 100% of people with AIDS died, often rapidly.
I remember weeping.
I remember Ronald Reagan's refusal to say "AIDS".
I remember the brave patients, loving caregivers, and the defiant power of ACT-UP.
And finally the miracle of modern therapy.
Rise up for World AIDS day.
Could be my family trauma talking though haha. All that said I do love love AND being a wedding guest hahahah
Totally. like in my most pessimistic outlook I think marriage is still a financial scam/trap for the wife/woman/afab whatever, whether they are actually the breadwinner or not. Going in together on bills is one thing, but allowing a man to be legally entitled to your money is fucking nuts.
Yes! And they try to incentivize you with tax breaks and insurance plans but the benefits are nothing compared to the cost of divorce. Like this world is designed to where we can barely afford to survive on a single income and it sucks thatβs why people do it. itβs all such a scam!
Full disclosure Iβm drunk on a Wednesday night and pondering a lot
Speaking as a person who owns a home with their unmarried partner.
Hereβs my opinion. marriage (involving the government in your relationship) and combining finances is extremely irresponsible. Why do people do it? Sincere question. βI canβt live without the other persons incomeβ does not count
Whereβs all my anti-marriage long term relationship couples at
A thought I keep coming back to in my 30sβ¦no matter what happens in my lifeβ¦at least I donβt have kids π

A photo of a religious icon type wood panel of St Sebastian, but with top surgery scars. He is pained with gouache paint on a gold background. He is clutching at his chest which is pierced by a single arrow, and looking up. He has dark hair and tan skin that reflects light.
St. Sebastian but make him trans!

A funeral invitation from April, 1688. It has an ornate black border with various memento mori iconography around it - like skeletons, winged hourglasses, and scythes.
Funeral Invitation, 1688.
Funeral invitations first appeared in the 17th century, and acted as an admission ticket to both the church and the funeral feast. Pallbearers were often assigned a number on the ticket to signify their position in carrying the coffin.
