Religion is the easy indoctrinated answer. Why are people good? Why are they here? Must be god!

But god is also kinda the source, or at least not the solution, to the problem at hand. So, useless and not needed in the story.

Evolution, community, principles, the pursuit of knowledge and understanding, etc etc. All things people manage to have without it being "given" by some divine being who's mess we have to clean up.

The spark for this post is me reading the "Hearts of Ravensdale" setting book from legend in the mist.

You've got divine beings, near divine mages, and all sorts of magic... and we'll all it is, is the start of a lot of trouble for the players to fix. Anything above ordinary and all sense is lost.

I wont argue with peoples faith but having to have deities as a checklist item feels horrible to me.

If divine beings in your world can't do anything but go "tee hee I'm just a regular person actually. Please solve our problems" then you lose nothing taking the divine being out of your game. #ttrpg.
Just have the regular people do it and cut out the bullshit.

Does anyone else hate completely useless divine beings written into #ttrpgs? It feels like people just throw religion into some games because every other game has it.
Normalize worlds managing to exist without religion.

Just so we know, the US is chill with:

1. Kidnapping and jailing a leader of a country

2. Targeting and bombing a country’s leader and heads of their military

Sovereignty is gone.
